Much bigger sample over the season for JFH with 14 appearances compared to 23 in 2024, but even broken Tohu offered more average run metres, though only just and the same tackle efficiency. Sitting on 234 career appearances, really hope he can get to 250 at the least. Think he will perform wherever they see him fit and hope there is some truth to Barnett taking captaincy so Tohu can concentrate on his own performance. Think Barnett would be better in communicating with the ref also

Hopefully he takes his time getting right. A fully fit Tohu coming in mid year could be invaluable with his skill and experience

Glad the club and Tohu pulled the pin and addressed the injury. Feel like the timing was almost such that the season was gone so they made the decision so hopefully he’s had plenty of time to recover. Will be interesting to see where they play him with so much of our attack going through him playing out the back. Also didn’t think Walker had the same impact as 2023 where he was coming off the bench and would rather him going back to that rather than starting. In saying that, have you noticed Walker in any of the pictures in preseason so far?

Yes, he has been in a few pics.

I think he is a 60 minute player at most and most effective coming on after 20 minutes and the initial sting has been taken out if the opposition.

Yeah I agree. Looked like he struggled with the pace of the game in longer minutes

Tohu doesn’t have enough aura to be captain imo, he looks tired all the time. doesn’t know how to talk to the refs either he’s too quiet should take some lessons off Montoya. give it to Barney

I remember a few years ago when Hofmann was captain, he only got the job because no one else wanted it.

Compare to now where we have a real leadership group, we are in a much better place. JFH and Barnett have the mana, performance and competitiveness needed for captaincy. Tohu has has the mana. RTS former captain still has those attributes. Capewell, Egan, Walker all senior leadership.

3. We're already getting plenty of snaps of pre-season training.

4. 7 weeks out from Vegas, plenty of time for them to get into action

Maybe they’re contracted and only paid during the season

Exactly right. Look at the majority of the other teams. They have posted pre-season doco style videos on YouTube to get the fans amped up for the season.

Being that Webster was so coy when asked where RTS will play, do you think it could be deliberate in terms of the training pictures and not wanting outsiders seeing where he has guys training positionally? Getting the yearly gathering for Sonny Fai’s tribute and some JFH training videos but not a whole lot of content

Yeah its called a holiday mate, unfortunately employees are "entitled" to them.
