Not in his position, not that it would have mattered as he wasn't ready. Don't start alluding that we lost because of him though. Results are team based not individual
I am not, but they won every game before he came back and every game after the two trial ones, so there may be something there. Should have had some games in cup first I think.

If you are stating we won before he came back and we won after he got injured again. How is that not at least suggesting he was reason? Why else are you pointing that out?

100% people carrying on and it's embarrassing the supporter base. A bit rich to try and call him out for 'throwing his toys' while having childish digs and comments yourself.

Ok we've located the number 1 Metcalf fan.

He's had a sook, his manager leaked it to the media, he's not prepared to put the work in to win back his spot.

Pretty unsavoury for a club trying to instil a team first mentality.

The unknown in all of this is the club's motivation. I get that Mets wants game time (the optics of fighting it out in reserve grade before all of this would have been preferable btw), but where the club truthfully sits is curious. Was any of this engineered in the front office? Moneyball on decent halfs knowing there is potential coming through that will now be easier to find a pathway for, and money to spend. Also cashing in the injury risk before his value potentially tanks - again moneyball risk analysis? Tanah is definitely the much lower risk bet, though it could still pan out that we picked the wrong horse (I don't think so).

I really hate all of this personally. I have seen too many Warrior's seasons wrecked by the casualty ward. Yes the club will be totally fine next year if Metcalf leaves (and potentially better off if recruitment goes well), but I'd have liked to see Metcalf fit in somewhere. His injury history is scary though.

If there was a gun player unsigned for next year we might be getting very excited about now, but there is not much out there. I really do think the Boyd, CHT combo needs an electric fullback.

I think LM and or his management must be extremely thick if they thought he was going to walk straight back into the 7 jumper and Boyd get the arse back to reggies based on the results this year.

I wonder about the rumour 20 pages back that alluded to the fact LM could be hard work This whole affair sure seem like an ego issue to me which is fair enough but you have to earn the stripes son. This is a professional rugby league club (now) Results matter and speak for themselves.

With Boyd at 7 and CHT at 6 I can actually get through a game without having the defibrillator under my chair

Yip, i hoped this was all a media beat up but this looks very selfish from Luke.
With the team going so well and him returning from injury couldn’t he just play out most of the season to see how things go before making these moves.

Sorry for having an opinion and asking fans to be mature about his departure. Wild take I know....

LM could have waited in the wings on BIG MONEY knowing that a team needs multiple players in each position, eventually he would get his shot again. We are 2nd in the comp because a player in his position has been kicking arse. But he couldn't be fucked (and if you think for a second his management is driving this you are deluded. the player always calls the shots through their management) LM clearly is not on the same cultural radar as the warriors, and ya know good luck to the fulla.

The guy just didn't have time to wait around hoping for a shot. All power to him I say.

Tracksuit cam learnt from the Johnson saga of 2018/19 if you just say nothing the fans will turn on the player in order to defend the club, lets be clear they have given the role he thought he had to Boyd, which is fine, more durable and reliable, plays to the game plan.

But they also know what that effect that decision have would have on a personality like metcalf.

LM can't keep getting injured and expect to walk his way back into a winning team. He makes a shit ton of money, and he should be team first, him second. to me it is a dick move to throw his toys out of the cot.
