Thoughts from the highlights;

1. Sifakula was actually really busy on D for a long period of time. Was scrambling on all Sharks breaks.

2. Lussick was getting shredded on defense.

3. Walker see above.

4. Marata was horrific from start to finish. If he had put in 100% on D, we would have stopped at least 3 Sharkies tries.

5. Game looked good when we got the 50/50 calls.

6. Ali is an absolute animal. If he can elevate his defence we could be looking at a new Toopi. His natural ability to beat a defender through power moves is amazing. Can drop a shoulder then switch ball arms to fend in an instant.

7. Metcalf is hopefully going to be great for us. Short and long passing, kicking, trying the 2pt field goal.
That fend on Hynes was Herculean.

Sometimes (mostly) its to do with who is putting in the effort. That depends on who is available.

I'd start by ensuring that everyone is putting the effort in. Then you can put people under the microscope.

If you're falling short there, you're not gunna do well as a team.

its because Webster is stupid. Someone else pointed out that Sifakula and Ale were on the bench when Lussick was playing prop.
I mean Webster is stupid and stubborn and over loyal to certain team members.
I posted earlier he needs a strong assistant coach who questions his decisions and provides a strong counter point.
blah, I'm pretty sick of this 'webster doesn't know what he's doing' schtick... i mean marginal decisions perhaps, but overall he and the other coaches will have a plan sorted for the game including the interchange ... it's really arrogant and plain stupid to say that any one or two uses of the bench that you don't agree with is a fatal strategic error... we don't know what;s going on at ground level... that said, i was perplexed by lussick on there for 60 straight minutes

So it sounds like some are implying AW has failed to motivate these guys to put in the required effort each week? 🤔

Or failed to make them accountable for not putting in the required effort

Lussick not coming off when Egan came on was weak as piss.

how though? It was weird and frustrating , sure, but we don't know what was being weighed - not defending it without any other info, but this wholesh thing about webby not having a clue is just plain rubbish
In the context of Sifakula and Ale on the bench who can are better middles it was a really weak decision by Webster and I struggle to think of any mitigating circumstance that could have justified it even though sure it is nice to give the coach the benefit of the doubt in this case I don't think the benefit of the doubt is warranted. As soon as Lussick went to middle forward they began to carve us up the middle. He shouldn't be considered an option to do anything other than play hooker.

The sharks forum blowing up deluxe and calling the nrl officials cheats and the game was rigged in favour of us?
Last week and the week before calling out the wahs fans for being sook fucks for blaming poor and one sided officiating for our losses. Saying it's never the refs fault they're just a shit team. Yeah, They are partly right. We've been shit most of the season. But when they lose it's all of a sudden pages & pages of "It's the refs fault" "Rigged for SJ" Lmao!!.....Officiating has been terrible for everyone. We just seem to get the worst end of the stick every year.

Another season gone, certainly finished on a high to disguise the frustrating below performances of the year.
Rumours on the forum are Bunty and Walker are also moving on.
The RTS delema must be solved for next session, unless he decides to try Japanese Rugby. I get the impression he would be his own harshes critic and almost would full on his sword than to become the scrap goat.
Webster has to learn from the year and no public promises for guaranteed positions.
Hopefully a full review will pinpoint areas of deficiency in the football department and recruitment.
The cold hard facts are, up the Wahs will soon loose momentum if the team doesn't make notable progress.
Good luck SJ you bow out at the appropriate time.

It’s been happening all season - that’s why it’s stupid.

yeah, fitzbibbon sat there with a straight face in the presser saying 'i'm not going to call anyone out, but...' ... i can't fathom that, the penalties and the bin were 100% deserved against those f*ckers... they were laying in and swinging arms over the top all night ... dumb arse play on their side of things .... butler hates us, and we still came out on top in the penalty count

NRL360 tomorrow with Rothfield could be fun. A few years back when Lodge got belted in the face and stayed down to get a penalty he was going on about ethics. Can see him complaining about the officials tomorrow night and DWZ staying down.

Mind you he believes the whole they cheated the cap every year for a few years but somehow not the one they one the competition.

Good to hear SJ wants to start a program for jnr halves to teach and mentor them.

CHT should sign up ✍️

Although I feel some kids have real egos ala Reece Walsh so wonder how effective such a program would be…

I think primary school they’d be more willing to listen and learn.. teenagers and older have a mind of their own. Think they already know the world.

We showed a lot more effort last night than most of our games this year.
Could be the fault of AW and the question has to be asked
Whatever the reason the difference was obvious and I would suggest it was because of SJs last game.
What else??

Does your mother or partner still wipe your ass for you? Or is that something that you do, as an adult?

Translate that how you will.
Poor analogy but I get it. What have been the consequences of players not wiping their own ass apart from leaving skid marks on the field.

If that is stopping us is effort then why hasn't it been rectified all season with those who haven't been putting in, and why have those that apparently have been putting not rewarded?

30 minutes of football against the sharks with nothing on the line for us and playing against 12 for 10 of those minutes and all of a sudden people think something magically clicked. Come on. If people want to buy in to the effort excuse for our season, particularly after last night, then more fool them.
