Poor analogy but I get it. What have been the consequences of players not wiping their own ass apart from leaving skid marks on the field.

If that is stopping us is effort then why hasn't it been rectified all season with those who haven't been putting in, and why have those that apparently have been putting not rewarded?

30 minutes of football against the sharks with nothing on the line for us and playing against 12 for 10 of those minutes and all of a sudden people think something magically clicked. Come on. If people want to buy in to the effort excuse for our season, particularly after last night, then more fool them.
Do you think that we showed up with the same effort when we got fxxked by the titans. The boys were all fired up and enjoying their game and spurring on their teammates. Something that has been missing in a lot games this year

The sharks forum blowing up deluxe and calling the nrl officials cheats and the game was rigged in favour of us?
Last week and the week before calling out the wahs fans for being sook fucks for blaming poor and one sided officiating for our losses. Saying it's never the refs fault they're just a shit team. Yeah, They are partly right. We've been shit most of the season. But when they lose it's all of a sudden pages & pages of "It's the refs fault" "Rigged for SJ" Lmao!!.....Officiating has been terrible for everyone. We just seem to get the worst end of the stick every year.
Bunch of sookie la las those sharks fans. Best moment of that game last night was seeing the guys surround SJ celebrating after he threw that magnificent cut out to DWZ and sharks fans in the background looking like they were going to have a cry.

They don't have too much to complain about, but fuck me does current ref setup game manage, because we were well behind we get a few calls to bring us back into it, I mean they had 2 or 3 tries wiped off the bunker. If we are leading by 18 the try confirmed just gets flashed up, and it was all the bunker, old mate butler just points to the spot and dragged us back 40m and momentum for... reasons...

Then as soon as we hit the lead they get a weak "changing his line" call on a dive.

Johnson post match comments were illuminating, its all based around him pulling the strings if he's on the field and most of the year, just couldn't do it.

I agree Tofu is 🤮
So you were happy with the effort that night. I wasn't and even if the team was missing players I thought we lacked effort

Nah, the effort definitely wasn’t there. The so called leaders of the team weren’t leading by example. Everyone were utter crap. No idea why. Could have been off field drama none of us are privy to that affected the vibe. Who knows but something wasn’t right. All it takes is one bad apple to ruin the pot.

Yeah mate
So fkn obvious
The difference between the titans game and last night is not comprehensible.
Everyone putting in and encouraging each other.
I have read posts on here about team rifts and this player dirty on that player.
Nothing like that last night

You're all mad if you think SJ is done after that. To start the season so well, and then it turn to shit due to the overall form of the club and injuries for SJ, to finish up like that....
I think if the body's feeling good in 2 months there might be a shock 6 month contract for the start of the year. That last moments gunna give him the itch, you mark my words
I hope not. Was an awesome game last night but it's taken all year for him to pull that out, some of that is due to injury but even so.
Time for us to move on and uncover the next hughes/SJ/Stacey/freeman/friend/varley......... or whatever it's called

We showed a lot more effort last night than most of our games this year.
Could be the fault of AW and the question has to be asked
Whatever the reason the difference was obvious and I would suggest it was because of SJs last game.
What else??
Rts not playing was a positive factor
Sj finally finding form
Taine useful addition in speed
A lift in effort from a number of our players

I actually thought it was more apparent at times last night. Sifakula was savaged by the other guys for his defensive efforts.

Not really a poor analogy if you got it. 🤪

Let me ask you this. What mentality to do you show up to work everyday with?

Do you base your efforts on the amount of fear your boss instills in you?
By I get it I meant I can get what you are trying to say,you just did it poorly.

Completely different circumstances. Let me ask you this, if you turn up with the wrong mentality and effort what are the consequences? You would be taken through a process to address it. And what do you think happens if it's allowed to continue? Now people are saying that all that needs to change is the level of effort. If that's correct then what has been done about it when all that's required is to simply not select a player or players the next game? We had several games where the performance was there and the results . So why weren't those players persevered with? Was it all just down to effort? And if so surely that's on the coach for not rewarding those players who performed?

Bottom line is that there are some fundamental issues that need addressing and simply saying try harder isn't the answer.

Fuckin good place to begin tho. And yeah AW should be held accountable for the lack of effort and team unity.
I remember a post of yours earlier in the year when you thought there was something about Metcalf and the team blanked him after scoring a try.
Why the change ?
Don't let your dislike of me to cloud your judgment.
Have a great night 🌙

Thoughts from the highlights;

1. Sifakula was actually really busy on D for a long period of time. Was scrambling on all Sharks breaks.

2. Lussick was getting shredded on defense.

3. Walker see above.

4. Marata was horrific from start to finish. If he had put in 100% on D, we would have stopped at least 3 Sharkies tries.

5. Game looked good when we got the 50/50 calls.

6. Ali is an absolute animal. If he can elevate his defence we could be looking at a new Toopi. His natural ability to beat a defender through power moves is amazing. Can drop a shoulder then switch ball arms to fend in an instant.

7. Metcalf is hopefully going to be great for us. Short and long passing, kicking, trying the 2pt field goal.
I absolutely love those points about Ali! Last season he was switching the ball so we'll! He's got a real skillet not a lot of centres have!

That fend and break he made from our twenty. We don't have any other center who can bust open the defence like that. Has defensive work ons but that type of play and x Factor is why I have him locked in at left center in my Round 1 2025 team.

Can't argue with that call. He's well ahead of other centres we have had with the same amount of experience.
