lol what in the fuck, stopped watching at halftime then phone started pinging so rewound to see what had happened - brilliant.

What might have been if Shaun could have played like that more often, oh well, it’s a great thing to have a game like that be the overriding memory of 2024.

So where the eff was that performance hiding it's little self!?

Good to the season - and Shaun - off with a good win.

Now on to the NSW Cup...

Ah, what a send off for Shaun. You really couldn’t have scripted it more perfectly. Down 4-22. Against all odds, . I was sure the game was over after Cronulla's last-minute try to lead 26-28 with just 2 minutes left. But Shaun seized the moment, the final play of his career to set up DWZ in the corner. Unbelievable. It’s the kind of story movies are made of. What a send off. So happy for him and the boys. After such a long season, this is the way to end it. It gives me hope for 2025. CNK at center with Ali. Tuapiki a threat all night at FB. Metcalf’s bullet skip pass was a beauty for Montoya to score. DWZ’s milk play, drawing that penalty and send off was a game-changer. Montoya was strong, Lussick at Prop 🤔. Everyone played well. Take a good break, boys, and come back bigger, stronger and better next season.

A heartfelt thank you to the dearly departed – Walker (?), Jazz, and AFB. Thank you for your service.

Great weekend of footy. Broncos flogged. Bulldogs lose. Warriors come from behind clutch Johnson play to win it and end on a high. Marvellous

Highlight reels from start to finish.

Surely SJ doesn’t want to retire, man what a player.

Fun game to watch, shows what we can do when we offload and use the ball.

Wtf was that bench rotation lol.

Leiataua definitely should have one centre locked up, and Charnze and Berry to fight out the other.

So good….hopefully they used this game to find out how to formulate the plan for next year, Taine at 1 Chanrz at 4, and Charnz can cover 1, 4 and 6 so Berry will get his time too, Pompey to cover Ali, so we get good cover for Taine, Ali and Luke who all looked like their bodies won’t last a month at a time, so the depth and versatility is good

Monty saved his best for last lol. Dallin a wonderful hat trick

Metcalf has grown a lot eh, setting up tries this month, good sign for next year, looks like he has the potential to kick field goals too, he didn’t pussy out and hide when SJ was stuck with 2 minutes to go

So why was Freddy playing prop while Ale and Sifakula were on the bench??

Found that a bit of an emotional watch last night. Couldn’t be happier for the great man to win it like that - reminded me a bit of the great RJ Hadlee taking a wicket with his final ball in test cricket (showing my age).

A season of what ifs - clearly SJ was hampered by injuries all season, but he mentioned how much better he felt getting to a 3rd game in a row. Linked really well with Taine - in my opinion the fullback debate is over, he’s everything that RTS will never be & CNK looked good at centre.

But last night was all about SJ, and he got the perfect send off. Absolute legend.

If you dont think SJ would be a good mentor to young spine members - watch his full press conference with Webby.
The start was quite funny.

You've never done a press conference?
I've never been captain.

We have debated a lot over the year about his pluses & minuses about being captain. Earlier in his career he probably was too immature. Since he has returned we have a mature individual. He may not have had the C next to his name last year but he was like Ricky Stuart at the Raiders let the captain (Meninga/Raiders, Harris/Warriors) deal with the refs but he will lead the team around the field.

Let's hope he does good work mentoring the halves. The guys taking over from him need work. You can see the difference having Cronk, Andrew or Matty Johns at some clubs. Having someone based locally would help a lot.
