That goal line defence in the first half was something to behold, I don't know how the hell we managed to hold them out, they looked dead set to score there.

I honestly think that planted the first seeds of doubt in the Sharkies minds, obviously took a bit out of us too as they looked to be getting it together again towards the end of the half.

Then the early 2nd half try from JFH off a pearler of a short ball pretty much sealed it! It was just mental destruction from there.

The ref did more than enough to get the Sharks back into the game with some 'iffy' calls but we still held them out, that was some kind of performance!

I think the big upswing in CNK’s form has come with the return of Roger. Those 2 are combining for over 450m every week and creating momentum for each other

Was thinking that! 2 fullbacks both now secure under the high ball, both making 200m+ with a step and offload in their games, with similar defensive awareness

Loved how they tidied up the bouncing bombs this week when Trindall shanked it, everyone back in the line, the other wobbly bomb CNK pulled out and Roger was right there to diffuse it

Then we see both of them tackling and blocking Katoa from the try line, we literally have 2 fullbacks on that side with Pompey in front

Laban is insane on defense. Constantly tracking the ball. In the 4 consecutive sets on our line he made multiple key tackles in a row, multiple times.

Yes TBH their attack looked a level up from what we’ve seen all year outside the Storm, kinda like playing video games and you go to the next level, well drilled and fast, I did not expect us to hold them out for 4 sets in a row and it totally felt like 2023 “you can do it boys” mentality watching it

Their attack did go to poo in the second half but I reckon our D earlier showed it has playoff quality to it

Hi

Question for those who watched closely
Did Laban play classic right edge forward all night - or was there some swapping around with Niukore in certain situations. Defending our line in the first half i saw Laban in the middle and Niukore on the edge but on attack Laban definitely on the edge. What did others observe?
