yeah bro, that’s the one!

that’s the kind of win to make the cops let you off blowing over the limit so long as you’re going straight home.

•erin clark - alpha status.
•CHT - just quietly having a hell of a season.
•our young forwards absolutely killing it.
•CNK - another corker of a game.
•depth depth depth.

TOP FOUR BASICALLY CONFIRMED.
fuck i love this team, man.
what a time to be alive!

NZWarriors.com

God damn man.

Sharks had no fighting spirit. Their only tries came off the back of piggyback penalties.

Otherwise we smothered and steamrolled them all night. We won the arm wrestle well and truly. Sharks didn’t want to pull their sleeves up and we exposed them.

Our youth is the reason why we’re 10-3. We’ve had no choice to rely on them and they’ve stepped up.

What a win. I was finding it hard to see how we win this game with their huge pack and no Barney but our young forwards destroyed them.
Speciall mention to the 3 musksteers Demi, Leka and Laban all unreal. Also shout out to Healy keeps playing like that and he will be our Hooker.

Also Cronulla had 45 tackles in our 20, we had 7 in theirs and won by 30🫨

Put my hand up, doubted them before the game......never again.

What a team we have.....young fellas, old fellas....everyone puts in.

Reminds me of the Storm.......there's non negotiables with this team that it doesnt matter who plays, the structures there they fit into...wether its defensively with line speed or positionally on attack......a real credit to Webster.....lock him up forever.

Haha 40 points against the Sharks in their house....3rd win in a row over there......we own them biaatches!!!

Chanel my MOM......best game ive ever seen him play

Fuck that hit puppy syndrome is still with me. Even after being 26 up I was still worried we'd throw it away.

What a game for all warriors fans! Finally got ourselves a good win and held on for the full 80! We gotta really savor that win going into the bye.

So much youth in this game too. It's looking bright in the future!

What a win, what a win.

How good!

Statement win! Webby said no one player could replace Mitch and that they need to do it collectively, and they did that. HUGE team effort.

Defence won that one for us. It was massive! Our goal line defence was unbelievable. Reminds me of a game in 2010/2011 against the Panthers from memory where we just held them out over and over, and we did that tonight. Just relentless! There was some sting in it too. Some big shots.

JFH > AFB. Go eat your brownies…

Capewell. Had a massive game, shored up that edge incredibly well. Can see why Webby keeps him there. Showed that wylie (?) nature for the first penalty by locked in Hirotos arm.

DWZ - Said after his similar try last week that only he scores those ones in our line up.

Kicking…just give it Pompey already. 66% is just not good enough at this level. It will cost us. Even the penalty where he slotted the 2 was a bit shakey.

Healey. Another good game for his stint…will be clipping at Egans heels pretty quickly. Chooses his runs out of dummy half so well. A definitive first grader.

Glad they kept kicking to their corners and peppering their wingers with some bombs.

Young guns - The future is seriously bright! Laban had a great game I thought. Vaimauga getting better and better. Lela - Say no more

Fairly sure first A+ I have given this year. I was hoping we keep it close when I heard Egan was out. The win was all on the back of our D. Great so many young players were part of this win. Starting to believe that this maybe our year!
Gr8 win boyz
Soak it up
That was a gun Sharks team
Shows ya a full house home crowd means nothing
Enthusiasm young guns having a go beat anything❤️😎

Our future is so incredibly bright. These kids are literally changing the game. Vaimauga breakout game. Laban looking like a beast against men. Sam Healey showing what he’s capable of. And these are pups, the club is in such a great position for the next decade.

there’s so many players I could list for outstanding games but this was a team effort. Our best game of the year, without Barnett, without Egan, playing a back rower at centre, starting a 19 and 21 year old in the back row. 3 21 year olds on the bench.

We defended incredibly well, turning them away from our line time and time again. The sharks had 40 tackles vs our 10 tackles in the opposition 20, and they couldn’t breach us.

So much for a rebuild year. We’re a top 4 side & we are every chance of taking this out.

What a night, one of our best games ever, a total demolition. Stacey must think it's 1995 again, this is a genuine premiership team.
It's like we've been reborn, or regenerated like fukn Dr Who. Which reminds me, Addin Fonua Who? Where was he? Fish should have boo hoo'd him, but he's too classy.
We knocked those fushy bunts into next week, they were seeing double, they thought we had two Lekas by the end.
I haven't felt this excited since the night I first got laid.

Vaimauga has been goo the last few weeks. He's been offloading and giving us something to play off. We got a bit more tonight. What a ball for JFH.

Clark just keeps on going like has all year. It's not just his first stint either. He comes back on and still runs full steam into the opposition.

Healey gave us something different out of dummy half. He was unlucky that he didn't earn us a few penalties for catching the markers being off side.

Vaimaunga IMO is the unsung hero this year. He's been massive up the middle since day 1, taking pressure off our middles, with offloads thrown into the mix. Because of him we didn't miss Barney as much as we would have in the past. We are so blessed with great young men in our club. I can't believe Leka is playing 80, tackling like a demon, then still full of beans in the last 10 to out jump everyone and score. Tell me one club who has two teenagers starting, playing 80 minutes week in, week out. I love this team !! Up the fucking WAHs!

A thing I noticed that I'm not sure I've seen anyone talk about is the two scuffles we had with the sharks.

They always started these scuffles on our younger players, Laban and Leka I think? Those younger players did not respond just letting the sharks push and shove em. As they probably should because there is a "art" about going into these scuffles without giving away a penalty.

And on both of those scuffles you could see Capes run in out of nowhere on both to grab and shove a sharks player and thrash them around (Best way imo to go about it without giving away a penalty). Fuck do I love the way a old Man of the game seems to back up our younger men every. Single. Time. And that to me has got to be at least some large part into why we are winning. Not letting anyone get trod on in our team, similar to the bulldogs but without the bullshit of starting it.

Honestly, give webby the keys to the city because what he’s doing with the roster and in particular the young boys is godly. Going into this season I’ll be the first to admit I was lacking the faith after the huge loss of experience we had over the offseason. But fuck me we really have a shot this year, the young boys are playing out of their skin and they are dragging everyone along with them.

Fantastic! Everybody played their roll. It was just a Fantastic result!

Tbf, JFH was outplayed by the younger pups tonight (but they'll never push it, haha!) Keep it humble boys, do what you're doing and keep it rolling.

Is CHT really That good? Tonight, Jerome Hughes thinks "Very much so, he's a bit to go though, I'm still thee #6."

Demi put himself on the map. Good Stuff Whanau! HUGE high fives to the forum members who picked 13+. Too Much! 🫶

Up The Wahs, baby! 🖐️😝
Thought JFH drove us to the win watch the start of 2nd half, barking at the boys, locking up the middle field was enormous. But yeah he doesn’t do the flashy stuff but with Barney his leadership is infectious

Speechless
Absolutely speechless.
What a performance by this team.

Everyone played their role in making this one of the greatest wins in our history.

Clinical from start to finish

The impact from our new fresh legs in Laban, Healey (how good!), TSS all made an impact.

Hats off to halves.
@ CHT !!! I’ve given this guy so much shit in the past. What an amazing performance from him. He was unbelievable tonight.

Even my current pet hate DWZ had a great game. Sane him make two good tackles on his wing !!! And scored an lovely aerial try to kick off our points scoring.

Hats off to everyone. Including the coaching staff.

A+ tonight

Get that week off. Rest. Recover then come back and put Penrith to the sword.

UP THE WAHS.

What's up my guy, Addin?

Leader of your pack, 4th tackle, and still not behind the play the ball while we run a train on your team.

What a solid all round performance across the park. Punched them in the mouth early second half and they chose to apologise instead, doesn't get much better than that.

The current state of the game is so heavily flipped by momentum a fair bit of that being managed if im being honest. We've figured out how to hang tough and swing it badk, it's honestly beautiful to see.

Haven't watched a full replay since the Knights shellacking in 2023. Will be giving this the respect of one tomorrow with pleasure.

Tucking in to a most delicious slice of humble pie after picking the sharks 1-12.

Webby has got this whole club well and truly buying into his vision. An abundance of talented young players being thoughtfully developed in a system that actually works.. experienced vets who look motivated to uphold standards and still playing really good football... A spine that looks like they can win games.. Wow!

Capewell was enormous! His kick chase lead the way in how the boys absolutely buried the sharks into their left corner in the second half. Gave them no chance to craft a a comeback. If we could rebuild Rocco with whatever Jackson Ford is made of.. that right edge kick chase is a lethal weapon.

Demitric has gone to another level in the last two weeks and love the scenes with him leading chants in the dressing room!

Forget Clark just being signing of the year.. is there a better 13 in the game anywhere??

Healey looks like he's going to be a really good player! Will be interesting to see if the conservative approach with TMM and his ability to cover the backline continues to be Webbys first choice option for the 14..

I am surprised Wahs Social media hasn’t put the new team song out 😱😱❤️❤️

SJ lost his words watching it 😂

See attachment below!

As it should be

Never understood why the fans should have the team song. And even worse it began to be sung before the win was confirmed.

Webster was asked during the week on Aus radio about the difference between 2023 and this year. Said they lost their head a bit in 2023, that everyone wanted a piece of them (which I take to include the commercialisation of the team song).

We are fans and members of the Warriors club. We're not members of the first grade team and some things deserve to be kept with them.

I'm on the totally opposite side. If you want to build a culture you've gotta influence the fan culture and let it influence back. I've only heard positive things from the playing group about hearing the home crowd sing it. Urlich the writer of the song loves that the public sing it.

I dunno, I just feel like these things help build a larger than the sport/team identity. Where people may of not seen a game but have heard drunken idiots scream that song in the streets. Where others have added to it or remixed it.

I mean look at Marching On Together for the Leeds football team. Very similar situation and it only helped solidify a fan base with a shared song.

Not saying this one they are doing now should be given to the fans too. There are smaller traditions etc that help with that solely in team culture. But the main victory song can only be a positive if shared in my eyes.

Note to AFB: if you are going to publicly challenge JFH to a physical duel, you better understand that he's not coming alone. Our entire pack is going to come hunting for you as a unit.

Noticed several times during the game Erin getting right into AFB's face and mouthing expletives into his ear whenever there was a negative sharks play. On each occasion, AFB just sat there and took it and let Erin get away with it. JFH may have taken the high road and decided to ignore his challenge publicly, but other members of our pack clearly took the challenge personally and ganged up on him all night. We clearly got inside AFB's head and rocked him mentally. Nullifying their pack leader, the rest of the sharks pack followed meekly into submission. Why on earth we tried to bring some of these sharks forwards over to us like BHU I will never know.

Keen to give a massive big up to Laban.

He has been a quiet achiever behind Demetric & Leka (mainly through limited opportunity).

He showed in this game that he can command a spot in the 17 every week and I actually think he should be starting on the edge now - atleast for a run of games.

Absolute weapon of an inside run and quick play the ball. He is every bit the level of player that Demetric and Leka are - really he looks a young Tohu.

Man the future is bright

Fish scores & the boys let him stand in it without jumping over his mana…..
He could be on for 6 GFs in a row…..
Tu Phuckn Meke……
Up let’s gone eat wahs
We are definitely contenders and could win the whole thing. If we do, not only our first, but JFH will stand alone with 5 prems on the bounce - it’s not quite Norm Provan - but in the modern era, it would be an unbelievable achievement.

Lots of water to pass under the bridge but by god we are shaping up nicely.

Beat Canberra in a prelim. Beat Melbourne in the GF and finally remove the 10 year curse and bring home the provan summons and Michael Moore trophies alongside a reserve grade and Matt’s title.

Am I dreaming?

Watch the post game of Broncos vs Titans. SJ gives a fantastic insight into Webby, Fish, the club, the halves.

Thank goodness Sky Sport Now finally gives us proper instant replays now!! We used to not be able to watch this kind of show the next morning
In days past that panel wouldve just glossed over that Warriors win. An hour long post show they probably wouldve dedicated 10 minutes to that game with 9 minutes of it being how poor the Sharks were and what they need to do to get better.

Great with SJ there, they have to be more Warriors centric and were getting more in depth analysis and focus.....long may it continue

That's a statement right there. Unbelievable exhibition of power football. These young bucks aided by the experience of the few old heads are showing we have the pathway and development process well under control.

Unfair to single out in a team performance like that but Fish and Capes deserve some extra praise for guiding the ship after the adversity of losing Barney and then Egan late.
Big ups to the coaching staff and game plan designers, God that 10m bomb and lockup is great to watch and is executed perfectly. Sharkies knew it was coming but like the proverbial train wreck, not much you can do.

Exceptional performance, everyone played their part and winnas are grinnas.
In all my years watching this team this has got to be the most satisfying comprehensive win I remember.
Everyone having a crack & backing up & enjoying each others contribution.Great stuff.

I’d like to agree with the last 12 pages of absolute pleasure watching our team last night. My biggest enjoyment was watching the mature and dynamic contribution of our young guys. I just love Dem Vaumanga unloading his bag of tricks last night as a hard tuning, hard hitting silk handed forwarded. Healy can def do a job as a running lock forward if need as well.. magic game! 👍🏾

That try from Leka was a big brain 1% play from the young buck given the scoreline. Could have easily left it thinking we were up by 16-18 whatever it was at the time.

Going from the video only I felt like he realised it was going to be an easy 7 tackle set. So his gets on his skates late to at least make it hard for the catcher, ends up muscling it for a try because he's just dawg.
Yep.

I posted the same thing in the NSW cup thread a lot.

One of the features of watching the cup has been seeing Leka, Laban, and Dimitric score off kicks in the air.

We have been crying out for an aerial game vs opposition Wingers, we have one now.

I ranted on about what you picked up on - these are 1% traits, and out of the three I actually think Laban shows the highest affinity for the the attentive side of ball work.....having said that...I am splitting hairs because all three have the same mentality.

We know they are athletic and people get excited about that, but the footballing brains is what I am interested in most out of these guys and Dimtric is emerging as a footballer over an athelete.

Hand eye coordination of those three is on a par with outside backs, they play at aerial ball like Wingers.

Laban is the one that will really surprise in the air, he is very light on his feet for his height and frame. If you see Laban with his shirt off, he is an unusually low body fat for an athlete of his size. He is less Messomorph than the usual body type we produce - he is built like a bastketballer....made for scoring off kicks over the top of people....Leka just goes straight through you like you're not even there.

I've jumped to page 13 so it's probably been covered but the play prior to CNK's try saver, Vaimauga showed great determination to get across in cover & make a tackle on a linebreak.
We'll never see it on a highlight reel but that effort shows great character

This team has swagger. They're good and they know it and every week they're getting more and more comfortable with the pressure.

We are witnessing a total culture rebuild within the club, probably the biggest in the clubs history and I'm starting to believe that this could be a long term thing.

I didnt think about it much at the time, but I remember a comment from 2023 Webby stating that he didn't believe in rebuild years.

This team is 'no excuses' and all accountability. You play the best you can, because the jersey demands it. Nothing less.

They got kissed on the Shawn Johnson in both games last year, it was absolute malarkey.

I can't stand them or their fans and want nothing more than the boys to bash them on their home track in Round 23.
You'd think after years of being cellar-dwellers they'd be more humble. Them and the Sharks have always been the most feral fans imo.

The bit I love the best there was the moaning about how the NRL was gifting us a soft draw to engineer some sort of free path to the finals. Their draw to date: Dragons, Titans, Eels, Sharks, Knights, Bye, Rabbits, thrashed by the Broncos, Titans, Raiders, Roosters, thrashed by the Dolphins, Bye, Eels tomorrow. They've travelled out of Sydney three times. They have two games out of Sydney to come.

Bunch.of.flogs.

He must be taught (coached) to stay on his man unless the defensive line is broken.
If Dallin doesn't come in on the first try they still score but the Centre runs around under the sticks and his team mate think he's a cat for not trying to stop it.
The whole stay on your man theory is flawed. If teams abided by it then no one in the front line tackles the opposition Fullback & we have a 1v1 in the backfield after a Linebreak

Neither of them has enough reps at lock. We need a mid who can play lock or prop.
Ok Wrighty - who replaced Tohu when he was out?
I m a firm believer in promoting from within
Hitting the phones and getting some one in will be a player another club wants to release maybe for whatever sort of reason
Our Fg side is running in the top 3
Our nsw cup side is running first
Surely we can promote from within

Something new that one notices from rewatching the game is that we've started to shift the ball early to make meters early in the set. Saw a bit of it against the bunnies too. In addition to the growth of our second phase play in recent weeks, nice to see that webby is slowly adding layers of sophistication to our attack as the season is progressing. Scoring 80 pts in the last 2 weeks is a great testament to that fact.
