On paper no. Have to remember that a lot of the players playing last year were playing injured. Hopefully injuries are at a minimum this year to develop some sort of cohesion and continuity.

Shame we lost all the history when the site got hacked but I clearly remember the recruitment thread (in 2023) saying we hadn't recruited the right team and we were going to be slaughtered. Turned out to be a great season with that shocking (according to the posters) team.
I'm just so excited to see footy again but curse these late starts as I'm still learning to pace myself (alcohol) and hope I don't fall asleep before the fat lady sings.

People are talking about our chances here in a game day thread for a trial game, must have missed their footy, the ole hope gene kicking in already?

Be watching our territorial game today, seeing if we cross the half way on sets. Also seeing if we have numbers hitting the advantage line.

The rest is kinda hope and pray, like pray our halves fashion some kind of a kicking game, and hope they do something brainy in the opposition half to keep the pressure on.

Just a hint or two will do, otherwise lets be real, we are gonna see a lot of one out running and a lot of confusion on the edges leading to try's against. That's kinda where we are at every year around this time. Any positives like wining the Ruck and getting a repeat set welcome.

Q. Is our best 1-17 better this year than last year? Based on Clark better than Jazz, RTS on the wing better than Montoya, Tohu carrying injury all year, halves obviously a point of contention but SJ was not firing at all and JFH while different to AFB provides more all round. Thoughts?

The potential is there. But that is all it is, potential. If TMM and Luke stayed fit all season and Egan...well anything is possible, those two look as though they could be a good pairing

If those three key players click, well we would suddenly go from being less the sum of last season to greater for sure (which is a long winded no to your question, on paper, as of today, they are not better, but i believe they could be).

Thought sharks and storm at the beginning of last season wasn’t a bad start, probably deserved to win both really but started to slowly unravel after that storm loss. Will be good to see individuals like how Metcalf takes charge and JFH in a Warriors jersey. Many clubs playing strong teams, manly and dragons had a closed hit out today and Gutherson getting lots of praise
