Gameday Preseason 2025 Trial 1 - Warriors vs Sharks

Oh. Was excited for someone to replace the current crop.

Still waiting for the day they give it to Sam Hewat. He could genuinely commentate League in NZ for decades.
Yeah someone who loves league who understands the game, even the Warriors anonymous guys would go well gerard Cronin or Daniel wharekura would do well with a lively commentator next to them.
Feels so frustrating when names positions and just fundamentals of the game are just missed by this current crop.

Q. Is our best 1-17 better this year than last year? Based on Clark better than Jazz, RTS on the wing better than Montoya, Tohu carrying injury all year, halves obviously a point of contention but SJ was not firing at all and JFH while different to AFB provides more all round. Thoughts?

On paper no. Have to remember that a lot of the players playing last year were playing injured. Hopefully injuries are at a minimum this year to develop some sort of cohesion and continuity.

Yes, I guess that's my point. Effectively last season we were playing with 15 alot (Tohu injured and SJ too) and apparent disruption from AFB. Given that, aren't we in a better space this season? That's not a knock in Tohu or SJ either. Fully fit they are head and shoulders above who we have now.

Well season hasnt started yet and Kosi is already in our closest starting team...

Yes fully fit, last seasons team is better on paper.
Hard to say anything about this season as they havent played yet. Still a bit of time before now and round 1.

Yeah Kosi doesn't help my case at all! Depth wise we are definitely struggling in the outside backs. Let's see what round one's team looks like.

You are right but games are not played on paper.
Probably better than last year but the results will rest on injuries and if AW is willing to go with the younger brigade and how they front up.
For mine I am expecting a disappointing season but happy to be wrong.
You can have all the ability/fitness in the world but unless you're attitude is top class you ain't gonna win anything

No I don’t think so- if we have a similar injury toll to last year we’ll be battling for the spoon.
If we can have a dream run with injuries (god knows we’re due) anything could happen I suppose 🤞
