Post Match Pre Season Trial 2- Warriors vs Storm

Martin and Metcalf will likely be the halves in Vegas, but Webster got a good look at the depth with Harris-Tavita scoring a try and having a role in another as he looked good on the left.

Would be shocking to them see them revert back to 6. Martin/7. Metcalf halves combo. It simply does not work.

Agreed.

If Metcalf is going to swing both sides and be dominant, CHT feels the better fit.

LM squaring up and playing out the back on the right, CHT diving deep into the line and playing out the back on the left. Was good to see them both playing their respective styles.

CHT also with the left foot boot, and always keen to push up around the ball.

LM/CHT feels the more natural combo.

Out of that starting forward pack.
Who’s playing 80 minutes? Seriously.

And unfortunately, you kinda need Hooker cover
JFH, Barnett, Capewell and Niukore can all play big minutes.

What's your need for 80min forwards, not sure I'm following? They all tended to cycle through the middle/backrow positions last year depending on who was off. The positions weren't exactly static.

Healey or Leka, happy with either on the bench as 17.

What’s my need for 80 minute forwards?

Literally every team in the NRL has 80 minute forwards. You do realise in real matches there aren’t unlimited interchanges right. It also gives you ALOT of rope with a teams bench.

Yeah JFH and Barnett will probably play 60ish minutes (burnout city). That’s 4 interchanges right there.

I guess I’ll give you Capewell. But is that really viable week in week out? He didn’t last year.
Clark and Niukore ain’t playing 80.

In 2023 we had Tohu and Jackson Ford.

I’d say either Clark or Niukore miss out to Ford. Probably Clark, note Ford was playing in the middle today…….

We’ll see I guess

Just got back home from the game after a long drive 😮‍💨

The wife and I got invited on the field to do the guard of honour after half time! Buzzing!

Cracker of a first half, great to see a lot more polish but the Storm gave us a lot more than they should have.

LM looked a lot better this run. CHT was effective but so unorthodox at times.

I’m still unsure who will be 7/6 come Vegas.. I think I prefer CHT!..

I'm well aware of the need for 80min forwards, but you work with what you've got.

Webby will cycle the forwards around from position to position as he did last year making the rotation work.

Clark will start at 13, Walker will come on at 13, Clark will likely shuffle to the middle as JFH or Barnett will come off for Walker. Niukore and Capewell will start on the edges and likely play big minutes. Niukore is a lot trimmer than he was last season, so don't think that's as big of an issue. Ford will play a bench middle role.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I think it's safe to say the coaching staff have worked out all the potential scenarios bench wise.
