Allen could be the next young gun in and he's a BMac type of opener, and Conway can play spin well so I thought he'd replace Latham's position then we'd have a gun top 5. Plus Rachin seems on track to be our best opener for the next decade...

This teenager Muhammed Abbas seems to be on the radar, if he becomes another Rachin and outplays Allen and bats in the middle then Conway can keep opening

Allen is a Martin Guptill. Good on his day but super inconsistent. We've given him a lot of chances, for our sake I hope he gets better but at the moment, I can't see him moving Conway out unless Williamson retires and Conway goes to 3. Conway at 5 is bonkers.

Conway was literally batting at 5 in the 2021 T20 world cup for his ability to play spin…when he broke his hand punching the bat

The other option is keep the top 4 and have Philips, Bracewell and Seifert/real keeper batters at 5-7 if none of the youngsters come through, Will Young and Nichols could be other options but we really want upgrades from Latham

To be fair Conway was a disappointing dud after that first game so I wouldn’t be classifying him as the unmovable rock if other openers outplay him in the next few years, I would definitely have him in the team but if he’s getting 30 of 25 in major tournaments while other rookies like Rachin and Allen are getting 3 centuries or 40 off 15 then ya be a leader at closing the innings like Grant Elliot
