He was classy in the presser. Bit like Webster, I thought. Doesn't get in a big huff and throw his toys out. I didn't realise the Cowboys don't have a bye until week 16, plus six origin players, four of which were backing up. He'd have every right to question it but didn't.
It's bloody weird eh. Some teams have already had their 2nd bye and they haven't had their first… bizarre system. But they will have a stack of rest 2nd half of the season.

That was insane. I kept wondering what game they've been watching… Not even the Warriors of old would have given up 30 points in 6 or 7 minutes.
I don’t mind it. We’ve heard that sh!t for so long. And I reality they’re just trying to keep a bigger more lucrative audience engaged. It’s something the NRL does relentlessly to try and drive drama and possibility out of some far gone game situations. All part of the entertainment. Even if if it’s screaming at the commentary team that they are are f**king clueless.😂

I think we're blessed with good quality halves atm, but talk of leaving SJ out is just nuts imo
Of course SJ will be straight back in. He wouldve carved playing off the back of that domination tonight.

The only question tho is how Webby willl adapt his role so his and Te Maires game complement each other rather than one dominate. SJ plays to structure, Te Maires a bit more eyes up.....that should be a lethal combination if they manage it right.

I have faith Webby will sort it. He's already shown he can adapt (Ford to the middle, Marata back out wide, Dylan starting over our captain)

We are so fucking due one over the Storm. Next week is it!

…and TBH, not unexpected from Brandy haha.

The SJ talk surprises me.

I'm thinking we can go to another level when he's back.

Certainly, he needs his chance in this updated structure.

I would settle on TMM to 6 and CHT to 14 until proven otherwise.

You can't tell me SJ doesn't have an absolute field day out there tonight.
This is the best outcome imo. Cht can cover halves hooker lock and maybe centre. Is a great 14 option while allowing for Tohu to play prop when Walker's on the field. TMM actually looks better attacking left anyway

Some of the officiating or the commentary on some of the big calls was funny.

That dangerous act of bouncing a ball on a player head I'll leave for now.

The Montoya break and shoulder charge call. Went up as a shoulder charge and the video ref says he is making a tackle and was commenting that it wasn't high. No comments on if he used his arms or not. This is more of a consistency thing. Similar to the uproar on taking kickers legs I can see one of our guys getting penalised for the exact same tackle in a few weeks.

The Cotter strip. The commentators wanted to make a case for a strip. Against the Dolphins we lost our challenge as it wasn't a strip as Aitken was making a tackle despite he made the hit and then wrapped again which isn't a natural reaction. Lussick has to let go otherwise it is a penalty. Not his fault the hillbilly couldn't hold onto the ball as tightly as he would his cousin.

AFB looked like, for the first time in ages that he enjoyed being part of the team.

I’ve been one of Ford’s biggest critics but the motor he showed tonight was unbelievable.

But hats off to Mitch….Origin, the travel, birth of a child….. and he puts in a performance like that. Absolutely top shelf stuff!!!

Bloody stoked with that tonight. Same against next week please!!!

Not gonna get into rating players efforts as I think all our middles were smashing it as a team without the ball.
But the shape that happens off TMM on attack with all the players running under and out is looking so good. He even went left a couple of times tonight off set play in attack. (I’m looking at you SJ 🤣) - Just looked connected but also enough ad lib to be constantly dangerous. That boy has to be a part of how we attack over the next few games and he needs to control the play enough to do that. SJ should be there. But I just don’t think he’s as difficult a problem for defences to solve .

The sinbins were a statement call. Cowboys were getting pissed and niggly and we were feeding off it a bit. If it had settled down earlier then there wouldn't have been a problem, but ref wanted to stamp it out before it all escalated. In isolation, utterly ridiculous; in the wider context, I get it.

Cotter chat was commentators playing to their home audience, I think?
