To think the bookies had the Cowboys as favourites.
Look. I love SJ.

He's honestly one of my favourite players.

But, every game where we look this cohesive without him really makes me question if he's the right halfback for us.

One on one, he's better than TMM. No doubt.

In Webbys system, however, I just get the vibe that TMM makes better calls.

It will be interesting to see how much Webby's system has adapted when SJ does come back. He has made some great changes, maybe SJ augments them? RTS being fit will be a very curious situation (he is meant to be fit next week). You couldn't drop Pomps, Montoya or DWZ. Berry had a good game too.

It's all passess too. I think when TMM has several options he generally makes the right choice, however when he's just on the one side he only has one or two options on the short side.

SJ was making all the right choices last year, but has gone the wrong man more often than not this year.

100%

Kicking too. Maybe he doesnt get the kick metres that SJ does, but where he kicks them is just better considered and not to only one corner.

There just isn't room for everyone.

It was funny with the try off the cut out past that bounced.

It didn't look right so the crowd was angry. The video ref can't call on forward passed even though it wasn't. It had the feeling like they wanted to find something earlier like a lead runner to call it back.

TMM has really stepped up since Johnson has been out.

He has been scheming quite well. It doesn't look as structured as it does with Johnson especially when we have formations. But it has been effective.

He's not involved with everything. But he is playing a lot on both sides which I like.

Let's hope when Johnson comes back we get a good balance between the left and the right. It would make us harder to defend against.

Awesome game - awesome performances.

Work on's - TMM's 5th tackle kicks lacked depth, and when he mispositioned several close to the Cows try line that ended up being 7 tackle sets. He had a great all round performance, but he lacks SJ's precision kicking game. Pretty much the only times the Cowboys were able to break free from our pressure was after those occasions.

SJ easily walks back in, but TMM deserves his spot in the team - however they juggle the roles.

Pretty bloody obvious that SJ should return at stand off and we should reassess his role vs CHT.

Shaun has a brilliant long kicking game and is a clutch player. He should be in the run on side no matter what while he is fit.

However he is no longer as good as TMM as a strike player in the pivot role.

Six or nothing.

TMM is owning the eyes up Jungle ball strike that the rest of the NRL fear from the Warriors, please don't change it.

The SJ talk surprises me.

I'm thinking we can go to another level when he's back.

Certainly, he needs his chance in this updated structure.

I would settle on TMM to 6 and CHT to 14 until proven otherwise.

You can't tell me SJ doesn't have an absolute field day out there tonight.

To me the big question we've had all season is why does our attack look so one dimensional.

My guess is that it could be SJ related. I'm only basing that off the last three games and so it still remains to be seen.

My counter question to you is; if SJ was out there tonight, would the team have had a field day?

To me, that's the only question that matters.

Care to elaborate why?
Shaun was in a team that were collectively playing poorly, in my opinion he was a part of the problem with his rigid play. If he comes back and plays freely I think he can add another level to this team. But Te Maire needs the ball too when he's back, he can't be a distant second option moving forward.
