Webster is producing miracles in the dreaded dressing room at this club.

Watching the replay I see Jazz and Capewell followed the team down the side line and they were both standing right there when CNK went over in the corner for our first try, both were yelling at the boys.

Talk about a healthy team culture, talk about a turn around from the cancerous rot and death knell that sounded around here about the end of our season a month ago.

Webster is a rare one indeed, I am struggling to think of Warriors coaches that have turned this club around when they were playing poorly at this juncture where it is needed most.

My recollection of turn around's usually goes like this: Season is almost statistically impossible to recover, Warriors go on an Origin run and fall at the last hurdle, or in a good year limp into eight and get flogged. Or Season is dead and buried, Warriors go on a run in the last six games which sees the embattled coach survive into the next season though likely to be released before seasons end...Warriors fans pull out dumb cliches about swallows and summers....dawns and falsehoods.

Or my personal favorite, Warriors win a big one, season is on a life line but alive at least, then get killed by the wooden spooners the next week.

I don't think I have seen another coach turn an unhappy dressing room, with off field dramas, into a C team last stand epic followed by a return of the King style all out assault on the NRL like this side is threatening just now.

Websters tenure has no relationship to our coaching history.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Tohu?

Genius of Webby to hold him back until the last 15 of the first half. Looked fresher than everyone else and was ripping in. He’s getting slower though. No doubt about it.

Capewell is kinda similar. You can see the difference in speed between these guys and the younger recruits like Laban, Ale and Zyon Maiu’u. The younguns have ferocious energy

Jazz was strong but didn’t stand out from the pack like he did last two games. Didn’t see any mistakes which was good.

We didn’t use our challenge which is another plus.
Great use of the bench but perfect use would have been to inject him four minutes earlier.
He said in the presser all three of CHT, TMM and SJ will be in the 17 when SJ returns. That sounds like CHT to the bench in place of Lussick.
There is room for all in this formation

6. Martin
7. Johnson

13. Walker

14. CHT as a lock and anything else sub
15. Tohu as a middle and lock
16. Jazz Bunty Ale Laban
17. Lussick

This leaves Capewell out so the only other way I see is to start Capewell and inject Niukore from 16.

Either way I think you're Wright

I think so too. Capewell is going to be in the 17 until he really plays badly and he did ok last night and was an asset.

I think Lussick will miss out. But the other thing I think is that injuries will be frequent and most weeks injuries will dictate who plays.

i think people are under cooking Capewells addition.

His hustle is massive, loose balls, scramble defense, he is fucking everywhere. Plus him in the 2nd row allows Ford to go to prop, WHO BRINGS THE SAME ENERGY.

Commentators mentioned it looked like we were playing with an extra man, yeah because the lateral mobility of those two is insane.

How would you like to be co-president of his fan club?
It was not working when he played 80 minutes but sharing the edge role with Niukore allows Marata to go hard and be an impact forward followed up by the more defensive Capewell.

Yes if Capewell to start ..and SJ to come in for CHT ...

I would like to see on the bench

14:CHT to cover Egan or any other back position
15:Tohu -rotate with prop-lock etc
16:Niukore - impact replacement for Capewell etc
17:Bunty -Ale -laban - Jazz ....toss a coin .. but from my personal fav in this order ... I really like Bunty's Ale Form of late and well laban future start Jazz playing better but against storm I'd want some size

Its about utilising players in multiple positions throughout the game. Perhaps it's like having a sub without going to the bench. Instead you shuffle.

Lateral mobility is such a weapon. Walshy and Farnworth have it in spades

Yeah mate I love it - very similar to Walker and Tohu imo.

Usually Tohu would start and then Walker would come on, but I guess the issue with this would be that Walker would maybe have to pace himself, as he wouldn't know if he was playing the rest of the match, or a short burst or something in between. This way Walker can start, and absolutely empty the tank (which could be 20-35 minutes depending on how the game is going) before Tohu coming on and steadying the ship.

I would love to see Webby use Capewell and Niukore similarly - when we want a fast, aggressive start let's go with Niukore starting. When we want to absorb the pressure in the first 20 maybe we have Capes starting and Niukore to come off the bench to provide some impact a long with Jazz, Ale, Tohu etc.

Going in was confident of a win which is a bit of a rarity. Only concern would be how the returning players would effect what had been built the last 3 weeks- but they lifted the bar even further.
One of the more dominant performances I’ve seen in a while and the cows didn’t have any answers. We looked fresh off the bye while they looked in desperate need of one. For all the talk of the Cows attacking prowess (including comments such as ‘1 down, 4 to go’ with barely 10 mins to go) we did very well defensively to concede only a marker defensive lapse late in the first half and a late try against a man down shuffled defensive line.
If we can keep this tempo up we will be hard to beat.
Team selection headaches incoming and how good is it? Can we get SJ and TMM to compliment each other? CHT I’m usually not as impressed as others but he’s been great and has to be 14 at minimum. Lussick had one of his better games but can we carry both him and CHT on the bench? Tohu looked much better with limited minutes.
Centre?!? … when have we EVER had this issue at centre? Pompey has forced his way in, Ali and GMT nipping at the incumbents heels, Berry improving and RTS to come back. Pompey has to be there but I wonder if CHT comes into centre and RTS at fullback when he comes back? Berry seems to be a Webster favourite though. Great problems to have

RTS is due back Round 17.
It is a long time until then and plenty of team needs could arise for him to fill even if there is no need for him now.

SJ comes back in at 7 and TMM to 6 for me.

Question: if that was Sj at 7 last night with TMM at 6 and TMM played the same as CHT did in the game, would people be saying TMM is shit and offers nothing?

When SJ comes back in, whoever is at 6 is going to see less ball and opportunities than 7.
