SJ comes back in at 7 and TMM to 6 for me.

Question: if that was Sj at 7 last night with TMM at 6 and TMM played the same as CHT did in the game, would people be saying TMM is shit and offers nothing?

When SJ comes back in, whoever is at 6 is going to see less ball and opportunities than 7.
I would go SJ to 6

SJ is so vocal he will end up with plenty of pill as a 6

Agreed. On form Martin has to start.
My concern is tmm at 6 and SJ at 7 didn't work previously.
Webster will have to make adjustments to the game plan

See, what if SJ played 6? Maybe he'd benefit from a more 'inject yourself as you see fit' sort of role? Would take the pressure off him too.
You need someone in the halves to be the leader, whether that's SJ or TMM. That person is going to receive a higher number of possessions by quite a way. It's getting that split between 6 and 7 closer that will be key. I like what CHT and TMM have been doing the last few games, chopping and changing sides at times, opening up both sides of the field, working well as a partnership. The thing with Sj is that we is such a dominant personality which makes him the great player he is, but can he take a slightly lesser role if it's for the betterment of the team?

Sorry, i thought it was implied. I want TMM to be the aforementioned 'leader' (7).

I think it'd be interesting to explore taking that 'majority play' Burdon off him (SJ)and see how creative he can get.

Le Chad knew exactly what he was doing, Cows needed a momentum shift bad so he was trying to get our boys to bite and turn the ref- CHT bit big time but luckily he pinged Le Chad for poking the bear
Nrl are letting Reed Mahoney create a real problem for them. The chirping has always been there but this guy is getting people particularly riled up with whatever he’s spouting. Ennis held the previous mantle but we’ve already seen Jack Hetherington who’s a hothead anyway square up by the changing rooms, sounds like things were close to blows in the parking lot in America between Leniu and Carrigan before a team manager stepped in. Our own Walker came to the conclusion when Curtis Scott smacked him, talk shit-get hit

Yes understood. I'm just not sure on a couple of things.

1. As well as TMM has played the last 3 games, SJ is the better half by a clear margin IMO so should be the 7
2. I don't know how SJ would go at 6 given his dominant player traits and whether that would gel for the team.

Certainly would be intriguing to see how it would play out and I'm certainly not saying it wouldn't work. I'm just more in favour of having the best player available in the position. Which for me is SJ at 7.

I know there was quite a bit of worry from a lot of people before this match about how we had lots of players returning, and that as we had won a few on the trot with out them, maybe we shouldn't pick them/stick with the youngens who got us over the line the previous two weeks.

I'm curious about what their thoughts are given how well we played - imo this was our best, complete performance of the year.
I loved our two victories against Penny and the Fins, but that was backs against the wall stuff and imo not sustainable over a season. This game we were dominant - our attack was vicious, our defence was amazing, and everyone stepped up.

Seeing how well we performed when all our big players have come back, I'm wondering why there's so much reservation about SJ coming back? Even when injured for a lot of this year he was playing better than he was last year when everyone thought he was the best player in the comp (aside from his defence which has been impacted by his injury).

The only issue I can see is whether Webby has enough time to come up with a decent game plan that incorporates both TMM and SJs best qualities so we're getting the best of both worlds.

Watching replay

Cows defence was like a hooker with her legs wide open. Huge holes everywhere. Too dam easy

But what’s happened to Egans DH passing???
Used to be very crsip, accurate and fast. Now it’s slow and seems to take forever to reach the first runner. Even his DH runs aren’t particularly fast…

Hopefully Webster sees this when watching the tape. We need faster DH passes with precision from Egan.

2 players are still out and one saw his role cut in half. Not sure it’s a vindication.

My only concern is we played a pretty poor Cowboys side with missing origin players and others backing up. Really good performance and we did what we needed to do but Im finding it hard to judge us because of if that. I was expecting the win and certainly the the final result exceeded my initial thoughts of scoreline and dominance of the game.

The only thought that keeps sneaking in to my head is that we all felt at the end of last season that the team needed some more creativity and speed. Currently the team is very similar player for player as it was then. Is it enough to challenge this year?

In my humble opinion, Shaun will come back in at 7 and Te Maire at 6. The former will still be responsible for game management, kicking on the 5th etc but the latter will have more freedom to run. He established a good link with Pompey against Penrith and this combination certainly looked better than when in combination with Roger.
