It’s nothing to do with the ref, we’ve just got a heap of injuries & can’t compete anymore. We try to compensate for that by pushing the rules & get penalised. Stop looking for scapegoats. The evidence was clear to see against the Tigers & it’s just got worse since then. Could be wrong however without a big upset I don’t see us winning again this season. Really disappointing given how many close games we won earlier in the season however we simply don’t have the cattle.
What game were you watching? You could tell in the first 15 we wouldn’t win in a fare game. Kikau try was a double movement. We had 2 penalties, a high tackle DWZ had to stay on the floor for & JFH knock on which they stripped the ball. Once we lost our challenge we were fucked. I’m not saying we win that game but it wasn’t equal. I agree we’ll struggle to win games with the injuries but if we get referred like that week in week out, it will be a large factor for the losses.

No no

It was no one’s fault.. everything is great. The team is great. You’re great. I’m great we’re all great and proud of each others great efforts……. don’t be so down on yourself….

The possession stats at half time being 66-34%, the fatigue and the rain are all going to compound and lead to more injuries and an impossible challenge! But, the cooked refereeing is killing the game! The ball is egg shaped to create random obscure outcomes…. There is no need for the ref to be an egg too!

Man the regular deebie downers are out in force tonight!

We lost our starting 7 early, whilst not having our starting hooker, captain, centre, whilst the dogs missed Montoya & Tracy. They’re essentially full strength, at home, playing like a top 4 side & needed a bounce back after getting pumped by the tigers. The ref didn’t help & he showed to quickly try even the penalty count in the last 10 mins when the game was gone to make it look like he reffed fair.

We’re a side down on confidence, down in troops & it’s showing. The reality is, we’re not a top 4 side, nor are we playing like it. That doesn’t discount all the heavy lifting we’ve already done to deserve to be in finals footy. We’re probably the 6-8th best side imo if we can get some troops back.

We just have to accept this year as a development year & move on. This year’s still been a mammoth success imo with the unearthing of some juniors who will play for many years at the warriors, have had incredible exposure to what the NRL is & will be better for it.

Chin up ya sooks. We got beaten by a better side but it’s not all bloody doom and gloom, sheesh!
Genuinely what game were you watching? Was hands down the worst performance of the year. Almost every single player's weaknesses were exposed badly.

With our combination of form and injuries as well as carrying players who are nowhere near first grade level, I don't think we win another game this year.

That was my feeling nearing the end of the game, it was much harder to watch than the Storm hiding.

No solutions from Webster?
He isn't Jesus, he can't bring injured players back from the dead.

Cheer up.

Our club is shaping up nicely.

Thanks to Webster these guys put the effort in, even when they are getting ripped off.
thanks for that, was getting pretty blue about our effort, had a sleep, now not so down, what can I say, once again I keep going back to the old adage "great expectations" also how are we supposed to win with all the things stacked against us "systemic racism" etc, nah just kidding, jokes family, on a serious note you could do a case study of the warriors and the bias against us from across the ditch, as fans we are not imagining it (surreal rant over). the effort was there but unfortunately we just don't have the cattle to do the job, I mean I'm not a doggies fan but bloody hell how good are their players just look at one player critter, wtf awesome player, can't help but admire how good their players are. maybe we need to look at recruiting 2-3 players of his caliber, I spent the whole game waiting for a x-factor play from someone like TT, or Leka, we can't keep putting unreal expectations on them, but hei aha, such are the joys of being a supporter of the warriors UPDAWAHZ!

I think that game highlighted our deficiencies as it stands at the moment, and some of these were exasperated by what happened in game.
  • Halves: Missing Metcalf, just as much for his boot as we well as his attacking strike. That kicking game of both Burton and Galvin showed clearly what we are missing there. A real shame TMM got HIAed.
  • Egan and his control of the ruck and tempo. The flip side to that was I am enjoying seeing more and more of Healey.
  • DWZ. I think some of the criticism of him became a bit OTT, however, that dogs first try I rewatched over and over and it showed clearly he turned in and didn’t trust the inside cover defender. Appreciate that wingers have a hard gig defensively but it is just too costly and needs to be resolved.
  • Taine. I really like the kid and tbh early in the season was backing him to take over the duties from CNK, but in the past few games when he has been at the back have seen what he lacks and unfortunately it is that size. Sure, he is hearty, but he just gets outmuscled too easily.
  • Up front. Stating the obvious but we clearly are missing Barney too.
I thought the effort was solid for the most part, especially early on in defence before we got frustrated as the dogs got on top.

I used to be a fan of the dogs in the mid-90s with that awesome Kiwi contingent of McCracken, Halligan, Timu etc., but can’t stand them these days. Arrogant af. Would love to see Galvin get his beans in time.

It cant be overstated how tucked the referring was. Yea our team made plenty of mistakes, but you take out the early bullshit pens, and its a very different game.

Do we still get flogged? Maybe, but we will never know. So many doggies points were scored off the back of that momentum gained by the tef. That constant having to defend is draining, and those calls against you are mentally draining.

That lost challenge was such a fucking crock. The Warriors knew it was obstruction. The doggies players thought it was obstruction and the player was trying to submit to not have a pen called against them. The only people who thought it was a pen against us were the Ref and the bunker.

Fucking hell, fans of every team in reddit were saying we were being fucked.
He really hit the Gee Spot aye!

I would not put TMM in this category, he wasn't even kicking before he got injured, it was all CHT!

Not only did DWZ turn in hes made an arm grab and was nowhere near the centre!

Zelezniak is terrible, and to think we have two more season after this!

Kikau never promoted the ball, he went across with momentum. The officiating was no different to any other game in the NRL & we weren’t close to competitive.

Went to bed at half time with red mist myself…

Woke up to see we scored some points. Thought to myself must have been some intercepts coz there was no way CHT would be able to pull off any attacking plays. Sure enough Healey goes himself from dummy half and RTS gets an intercept.

Don’t deserve to be in the top 4 when you get belted by all the teams currently in there.

My worry now is we don’t win any more games and slip slide out the top 8 completely.

A very real scenario!

We need two wins, the best we can hope is make 5th or 6th amd have Broncos at home week one.

Our attack/kicking game is shot ! Need someone like Fogarty from raiders with a big boot & game management ! Jackson ford had a cracker game though! See how the rest of the year plays out ! 😬😬
