That was my thinking when they were displaying the winning targets in Melbourne.
Once they got over a target of 250 they should have been debating another 20 runs vs the time to bowl India out. Also how much time they would have eaten into the available hours on day 4.
They could have got a decent amount of overs in last night and had their bowlers come back fresh for day 5.
And also another new ball later today to get after the tail.

it's a frustrating watch - personally I don't think much of this aussie side, it's fair to middling - india really *should* be all over them ... but there's a mental block somewhere, or some clashing egos, idk -

yup, that's the dynamic - i want test cricket to be better than this too.. feels moribund even while the commentary is about how fluctuating it's been .. the Australian team isn't as good as it presents or is boosted to be, and India, well who knows? should be better

Frustrating if you support them but as a neutral its been a great test and draws can often be enthralling. Australia are closing in and this is going to be a tense final 30 overs.
My earlier point was that if Aussie had have declared last evening and bowled 8 or 10 overs they would have the new cherry about now. Whole new ball game

Jaiswal is a hell of a player. 84 out of a total of 140. Konstas chirping him the whole time, which is fine, but I'll be intrigued to see how long he lasts opening in tests with his current technique.
