With the weather, I think bat as long as they can and declare with 4 or 5 sessions left to bowl them out.
Opening the chance of a draw?

Suppose the tv partners will like it the longer we drag it out 🤣

Having said that if there’s someone close to a century or putting up a big score, no harm in letting them go for it.

if we cant bowl them out in 4 or 5 sessions with a lead of 450 plus then do we deserve to win? England don't seem to want to bat for draws these days.

After the last couple of tests the Black Caps probably owe the TV partners for short changing them
Lets just win a test match .Rather that than a 3-0 kicking. To hell with whether we deserve to or not .
To hell with TV partners ;) Still think we should have declared but thats typical of the negativity around our team of late.

Looks like the plan is to bat out the majority of the day. Maybe give themselves 10 overs tonight to bowl at England with a target somewhere around 550 to chase? Weather forecast looks good for the next two days. Stokes with a dodgy hamstring.
I'd love for Kane to get at least 21 more runs so each English batsman can be "reminded" when they come to the crease that one of our Batsman scored more than their entire first innings.

I wonder if Southee will be the next batsman in? Apparently, he only has to score two more sixes in test cricket to become one of only four batsmen in history to score over 100 sixes in test cricket.... two of the others are with the current English side (Baz {107} and Stokes {133}). The other is Gilchrist (from Oz) who has 100. The most surprising thing is comparing how many actual runs they scored to Southee (2,243).... Stokes (6,719), Baz (6,453) and Gilchrist (5,570). All the others scored multiple 100's while Southee hasn't scored any with a HS of 77. (Figures from cricinfo https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-sixes-in-career-283122 )

I think the Southee 6 record highlights everything that is wrong with his attitude and application when batting.

Always felt when we needed to dig in he just didn’t care.
