I think the weather will have a say tomorrow but Tuesday and Wednesday are actually looking OK. Plenty of time for a result.Kane 100* Southee 100 6s and NZ win tomorrow.
It's probably southee's call as stead has no balls!Surely Latham would have a huge say on the decision. If not he should do
All the more reason for Latham to have his inputIt's probably southee's call as stead has no balls!
Santner had a pretty good day also.Another thought I had in reviewing the day in my head. While Henry was excellent again today, O'Rourke was just absolutely hostile with his bowling. So good to see from a kiwi bowler.
Up hay, minus Phillips, Plus Santer (santner)And the more I think about it the more I want to see with a new agressive coach for a run of tests as soon as we can this line up if fit
Latham
Mariu
Young
Williamson
Ravindra
Philips
Hay
Smith
Henry
Foulkes
O'Rourke
Look some of them might fail but we need to make changes and move on. This gives us a degree of balance with experience in the batting with Latham and Williamson, you have Young and Philips there to help out with Ravindra and Mariu to learn and develop under their guidance. With the bowling you have Henry with the experience and O'Rourke who is coming along nicely. Smith and Foulkes to develop and learn. Great mix of youth, experience and class I feel.
You win the most ironic comment in a cricket thread today. It's probably southee's call as stead has no balls!
Just concerned that's too high for Hay to start with and I'd like to see how Philips goes with a better coach and more responsibility. Yes to Santner if conditions suit with a seamer to drop out in that instance.Up hay, minus Phillips, Plus Santer (santner)
Everyone I talked to, kiwi fans, england fans, didn't rate Stead and thought Southee should have retired or been forced to do so at least a season ago. It's probably southee's call as stead has no balls!
Keeping the foot on the throat sound be having them 5/100 at stumps wouldnt it?Yeah. Wicket still doing enough
Keep the foot on the throat everytime.
Especially with Santner getting turn and the inconsistent bounce for the quicks
The point is simply its all pure conjecture but that's what I would have done under the circumstances.Keeping the foot on the throat sound be having them 5/100 at stumps wouldnt it?
Could have won by an innings!
It's fascinating chatting with the Barmy Army. They are die hard test fans so it's always great to hear their opinions on our side from an outsiders perspective. Very respectful as well.Everyone I talked to, kiwi fans, england fans, didn't rate Stead and thought Southee should have retired or been forced to do so at least a season ago.
A long time before the next test. It's fascinating chatting with the Barmy Army. They are die hard test fans so it's always great to hear their opinions on our side from an outsiders perspective. Very respectful as well.
Regarding your test side I agree with most of it. Kane is the incumbent at 3 and it's hard to see any change there until he retires. I still see a place for Mitchell for the next test window as well as he's still doing enough.
The Oracle speaks.Be lucky to get 1.
Yeah, it's good chat and 9/10 are knowledgeable and it's quite balanced, good natured opinions. I'd be happy with that side running out. That innings in India where everyone was collapsing around him and he staggered through to get us a competitive total, along with the last grasp effort in the first England test to try and get us to a total to bowl at gives him another season for me, though I don't know beyond that and it's doubtful he'll ever get back to his Wisden level run. Like you I'm ready for Mariu to have a go at the top.
My lineup would be:
1 Latham
2 Mariu
3 Williamson
4 Ravindra
5 Mitchell
6 Phillips
7 Hay
8 Smith
9 Henry
10 Sears
11 O'Rourke
12th Foulkes
