Minor injury concern as Inruin's Easy Beats record their first win of the Season

Inruin's Easy Beats comfortably accounted for jonesy101nzw, with a good scoring round to record their first win of the season. The victory takes the pressure off coach Inruin after not having a lot of luck in the opening rounds of the competition.

The win did come with a slight cost with injury concerns to their star winger.

Christian Tuipulotu will be sent for scans after he was forced from the field with a hamstring strain in Friday night's match against the Titans at WIN Stadium.

Tuipulotu scored two tries in the 10th and 43rd minutes to join Brisbane's Jesse Arthars as the NRL's leading tryscorer with seven tries, but his hopes of overtaking the Broncos centre were dashed when he came from the field in the 60th minute.

After going into the Dragons dressing room for a medical assessment, a frustrated Tuipulotu returned to the bench with ice on his right hamstring and watched the rest of the match.

"Tuipulotu left the field midway through the second half with a hamstring concern," the club said. "This has been assessed as a moderate grade hamstring strain. He will now be sent for scans to determine a return-to-play date."

"He's our only real injury concern. We are expecting him to be available for the next game but if not we have some great depth in the squad with a number of players putting their hand up for selection."

When asked about the upcoming fixture against Wrighty's Allstars, Coach Inruin was fairly blunt with his comments.

"They've had a very easy run to start the season. I'm not sure how the league come up with the fixture list but we have been severely disadvantaged so far with the opponents we have faced. I'm sure @Wrighty will be doing a bit of soul searching after his first loss. It's not easy for a rookie coach when you start losing. He's had a pretty soft introduction to Supercoach so far, he will take some lessons out of his last round loss and I expect us to continue his education in that regard"

Which underperforming player is being shopped around for an immediate transfer? The player isn't unhappy about switching clubs though, with his current coach apparently unpopular with the playing group due to his new age methods and constant roster changes. Despite a 4-1 start to the season, rumour has it that more players are keen to move on in coming weeks and another loss this round will put the rookie coach under pressure to retain his role. Watch this space.

I was reading that shit just now wondering who it could be - forgot what thread I was in 😛

It surprises me, and I’m at a loss as to why he would chose that particular quote. Especially when you consider the fallout and what the West Indies response to it was. Do I think there is any malice intended. No I don’t. He isn't that type of person. But, having said that, he needs to be aware of the impact of his comments, particularly with the number of indigenous players in his squad. From what I understand a number of the playing group are already unhappy with some of his methods and the roster changes. I think he has a big job on his hands to not lose the dressing room. Look, he’s a rookie coach, under a bit of pressure and has made a comment that is probably not appropriate. His main focus should be how he gets his team to perform this weekend. He is just creating distractions they don’t need” – Phil Gould (100% Footy)
