Feeling quite deflated this morning about this team.
The score doesn’t really tell the tale of the game, seeing a 1 point loss you’d think we were in an arm wrestle at least but that was one of the worst performances in a long time- it was an extremely hard watch, I was close to turning it off out of sheer boredom, certainly glad I decided against making the trek out to watch that shitfest live.
It’s been like watching a train wreck in slow motion watching the slow decline of the season after laying a very good platform in the first half of the season, apart from the odd sprinkle of light the rot has just been getting worse.
Sure I would have taken a top 8 finish at the start of the season but we are just delaying the pain another week is all sadly. It’s been tough listening to the pundits talk of our team not deserving to be where they are but it’s kinda hard to argue now on current form
Sums up how I feel
I think selections rotations tactics have been our downfall
The continued selection of two obvious non performers week after week has been our downfall
The responsibility lies with coach.

We scored next, 10 minutes later, but I reckon Boyd's decision to run short side after the Capewell break was a pivotal moment in hindsight

I’ll take your word for it that you saw it. You must be ginger and they have vision far greater than anyone else
there was no way that was a try... anyway ... just watched the presser ... has the tone of 'we're sick of this shit let's start again', I hope they mean it - we've got a shot we need to do everything to take it

After years of struggling to get into the eight or just missing out, I for one am celebrating that we made it.
We had no right to get there after losing Tohu, Walker etc. and the injuries.
With the young guns coming through and our injured players coming back next year I'm looking forward to a more settled structure where we can field the same team and build structures.
Well done AW

I'd love to know how you factor in losing a Kangaroos prop, Dally M leading halfback and Walkers marriage falling apart into recruitment and coaching?
Dally M leading halfback was injury prone and did an ACL. My previous post about Barney applies to Metcalf too.

Walkers marriage was Walkers job. Recruit someone with the skillset and a decent marriage then.

So far , What I've taken from this post gameday thread is Bay39er & Bangbros are cunts, One is a video ref, The other claims none of us are.

Damo & Warrior92 are about to be in a forever relationship. They agree on everything. And they are apparently right about everything....How cute 😍

Metcalf & Barney caused the collapse.

It wasn't the refs fault, It was Nuikores for missing all our tackles, Not being able to pass, kick or catch. Ruling incorrectly that Manly scored - But they didn't. And Marata kept jamming in off of "His wing" opposition scores.

Capewell made a break and no one was in support because CNK makes 900 metres a game. CHT & Roger got bowled over and took 5 business working days to get back up. And Fish the Muss is allowed several off days all year cos he's Fish & a protected fishy.

We lack the mindset for finals football in 2025. We also lack the ability to support players who do make a break. Bench selections have been iffy & the timings have been off.

The young guns will gain plenty of experience that will do them the world of good in 2026.
