Oh and wiz? You keep whinging about productivity - in Simon Wilson's latest article he rightly points out low productivity is a result of consistent investment in property and nothing else. Not to mention a few other clear home truths as reported on by the IMF.

Chloe Swarbrick is a hell of a lot smarter than those wishing to run her down on these forums.

I agree, productivity is growing the pie not fighting over a share. Said it many times. So we need really business friendly policy, not anti private/ corporate.

Glad you now understand.

The ironic thing is the economics of the left is to increase Labour costs so much if forces business to invest in productivity (machinery/ technology, etc) to replace labour. The labour will retrain to higher paying jobs. I actually agree with this.

The problem is if you do it to fast without time to adjust it’s a business killer. And the labour can’t retrain.

This was Labour last term where they ramped up minimum wage, sick leave, extra public holiday, pro labour laws, etc plus shut down immigration. Way to much to fast that smashed employers who were already under post covid pressure but the idea is right.

Unfortunately it was all too much, too fast, while businesses were broke from covid and we had the huge labour shortage with businesses literally closing down and inflation ramping up to try to counter the issue. People couldn’t and wouldn’t retrain and universities and polytechs actually lost enrolments

It needs to be a long slow process.

Unfortunately for Chloe, she was a senior leader while the country fell apart last term.

Worst recession in 30 years, huge inflation, record borrowing, etc. she has no record to stand on, has no business experience or economic qualifications.

Good on you for being infatuated with her ideology but there are no successful far left countries in the world.

Ps I’ve been the treasurer on a school BoT and it didn’t make a loss so I have more experience and success than her just based on that 😉

With your creative accounting I'm surprised you weren't arrested.

It's amazing how actually looking out for the common good and our community is seen as far left by those on the far right.

Quite sad really., and shows no inclination of reality, just ignorance

Do you numbskulls in this thread - who were saying Chloe has never had a real job so couldn't be taken seriously - think Seymour who has never had a job - conceived & drafted this on his own? Naive
Take it you are referring to me here. I haven’t commented on Seymour’s bill and I don’t even have an opinion of it. I’m not involved with this particular debate

In an emergency they say you should look out for yourself before you help others so you can look out for others. A focus on Individual responsibility sets the platform to better outcomes for the common good and community. We both want the same thing bits that’s Where we ideologically differ.
