Here is some positives from the glass is half full side of things

1) CHT looked really good. That was the best game of his life. For years people said this tired old quite from I think Bennett "It takes 80-100 games for a half to arrive". Maybe it is true. No rotten fruit but he looked as good as Dearden out there. I had to rub my eyes. Looked amazing in his pre-season game too. If you gave me a choice between a victory with the usual suspects playing well and a loss where a key spine player had a break through game I would take the later. This is huge news for the Warriors as we look to firm up our spine options for 2026 and beyond
2) RTS looked the business on the wing. Why did we play him at centre last year now when it seems so obvious.
3) Vaimauga and Leka despite getting garbage minutes looked very good. And like they were physically bigger than last year especially leka - he looked much bigger than last year.
4) Our red zone attack which some of you expressed concerns about converted "OK". We got across the stripe twice out of 7 or 8 attempts. We would have scored more if the Raiders had let us down their end more. We nearly converted a third time as well with RTS missing Chanel's grubber.

Finally even though we and me as well are giving some concerns about webster. He called Chanell and picked him out of all the half choices he had when the pressure was on to pick TMM at 6. He backed his gut and went with CHT. Yes we lost but CHT will get us some Ws the way he is going - Metcalf just needs to wake up. I think he had stage fright as he was awake in the preseason games.

Some big ups from the game as well as some of the deltas.
I agree with u, I thought channel played good, behind a well beaten pack.
He through a few good cutout passes to Roger who’s too slow to take advantage of and a beauty to Pompey and if it was a decent centre with some pace I think we score off it.
The nice grubber as well as his defence.

What? Beauty to Pompey I assume you mean for the Capewell try was just catch and pass. He doesn’t draw and pass.

When he runs with the ball he’s predictable and easy to shut down

His failed shirt grab to let Canberra score was so typical

His career highlights so far are all bloopers except the odd kamakazi tackle where he risks injuring himself by cannon balling into tackles on D

Interesting looking at the poor game by CNK’s standards that in both games the fullbacks were under par. Weekes was quiet in our game, Kennedy was fairly average and Dylan Edwards has a pretty poor game by his standards too with multiple wayward passes

"He's given me his version and in fairness to everyone, we'll let the CCTV footage show what happened.

I certainly believe and trust Richard's version."

Oh no.....

This could be very bad...

When did they release the name of the journalist?

It wasn't out already? Leaving work yesterday I was listening to the radio and they mentioned the journalist's name then. It could have just been the radio host already knew who it was and mentioned it themselves.

Mind you the journalist wouldn't know if it had been mentioned in NZ already.

Will be interesting for sure.Pretty sure that old drunk Buzz said he saw the whole thing and it was anunprovoked attack

After all the hype and anticipation, with a new roster, low on star quality, being asked to have faith in some players playing in key positions that don`t impress, we end up being unravelled on the biggest stage.
This loss has hit me harder than most because I just can`t see where to from here.

The old saying goes something like
"The more things change the more they stay the same ". 😉

The Bloke in A Bar review of the game is exactly it.

Everyone is confused just like us fans, and at the same time, their message around player choices and positioning is just as accurate.

So, why is this coaching department making such random decisions around certain players when the entire Rugby League world knows the obvious.

Continue on this trajectory to nowhere or improve. If he names a bench and thinks they aren't up to it then it's Webby that needs to learn that the 17, 18 and 19 are all important. Bench players are not your not good enough to be starters they are the ones who improve on what the starters have done. Anyway, improvement is in them but the unknown is if they will apply it
