The public didn't vote on repealing smoking legislation at all...

No parties campaigned on it to the public & it turns out it had a tiny mention in the NZF manifesto.

NZF only got 6% of the vote. It's disingenuous to say those who voted got what they wanted. That a lobby sector can influence a party and health policy should concern any reasonable person.

One thing just to remember with all this is that these lazy terrible parents were once the kids without guidance. The problem is generational.

Juju's offence to anything I post blinded him to the essence of what I was saying. which is this. Its generational, but it can be overcome as seen in studies. Its takes 3-4 generations but its achievable with enough targeted education.

During general debate in May, Te Pāti Māori MP Mariameno Kapa-Kingi said “E te Minita, ka aroha ki a koe kua karetaohia e tō pāti. Kia kaha rā”.

It was only when reading the translated Hansard of this statement later that Chhour understood the meaning of the remarks, which was: “To the minister, how sad that you have been made a puppet by your party. Be strong.”

Chhour told the Herald she complained to the Speaker about the incident, as well as others, where she felt she was being subject to “bullying behaviour” rather than being attacked on issues of policy.

It’s the māori parties objective to create divisions around race. If race was irrelevant they wouldn’t have a platform so they need to take a default divisive position to remain relevant.

Some examples of their coarsening of the tone around race relations:

māori party MPs: ‘coalition government have a "mission to exterminate Māori”

MP’s repeatedly using the words "white supremacy" and "Pākehā supremacy" when criticising the repeal of section 7AA of the Oranga Tamariki Act.

‘It is a known fact that māori genetic makeup is stronger than others.’

Yeah totally but once they are adults the cost of changing them is more than society wants to pay so what's the answer?
