General Your 2025 team

I honestly can't see how this switching over the 6 and 7 in attack can realistically work. You certainly didn't see that happening with the LM/CHT combo against the storm. The best option for injecting a ball player like TMM in to a system like they seem to be talking about is at fullback where he can pick the right areas to join in to. It was the first time we have really seen our fullback attacking both sides of the field and creating extra numbers.
So you're saying it's a masterstroke and Webby's a genius? I want to believe.

Well it actually makes sense from an attack perspective. It may well be a masterstroke and Webby is a genius IF that's what they go with for the game. Otherwise it was a one off bit of fortuitous play in a fairly meaningless preseason game against very weak opposition.

I was thinking TMM at 1 and Metcalf 7 and they swap positions in the opposition 30 at times ie TMM at 7 and Luke back to his backing up role poking holes like before since TMM still shifted to 7 in the 2nd half of trial, he’s probably off the table as 6 for now

Could be. I just think it would become overly complicated that way for what it needs to be. Having your fullback inject themselves into where they see the opportunity is one player roving. Getting your 7 and 1 to switch around depending on where you are territorially on the field and what tackle it is, is quite another thing again. But hey, I'll take it over the robotic play we had for most last season if that is what we go with. My concern is if it's all just a one off and we go with LM and CHT with TMM in cup, I am really unsure that we have enough creativity and points in us.

Full strength side

Martin
Tuivasa-scheck
Leiataua
Nicoll-Klokstad
Watene-zelezniak
Harris-Tavita
Metcalf
Fisher-Harris
Egan
Barnett
Laban
Niukore
Clark

Walker
Halasima
Vaimauga
Healey

My final side at full strength.
If Charnze can link both sides as successfully as Te-maire did I would have him there with Berry at right centre.
Walker and Vaimauga to rotate the middle, Halasima to come on either side who ever needs a rest Niukore or Laban and run wild.
I
I wouldn’t mind having Ale for Healey either as he looked damaging on the edge, and we know he can play middle.
Healeys service is just not quite there atm, but I like his speed around the ruck and his defence.

I am concerned about TMM at the back, his carries are not really strong enough, neither is his ability to take the high ball. However, when on, he is our number creator. I didn't count but the majority of tries on the weekend is about him creating space and putting people into space. If he is on this year, he is our go to guy for attack. He is such an enigma, great tackler, really ideal at half but his lack of a kicking game.... a puzzle for the coaches. Hope they get the best out of squad, definitely talent, its just about getting the right combination.

Don't worry too much, he's not actually picking the side. 😂

I think we definitely need his ball playing. His kicking game is under rated also IMO. Even against the Storm his kicks were landing inside the 10m area, we got a repeat set from a nice short kick and should have had a try from another one.

When your forwards are dominating then TMM at fullback is going to look great, if they get handled by bigger packs and not winning field position, we’d be crying out for what CNK does, I don’t think you can have 2 little guys in the back 3 in the modern game, only the titans and maybe the raiders do that, and they have much more pace than our guys.

If DWZ was back then it becomes a bit more likely, but then why wouldn’t you just play TTs younger legs at fullback if you needed the extra ball player.

If the pack proves good enough then maybe, but we’d have to see them get over on teams first. Anyway Webby loves Charnze he’s not moving him unless we get another centre injury and has no choice (entirely possible)

I agree with what you are saying, but I don't think TT's ball playing is of the quality of an inform TMM. TT is more suited to FB however.

I think I'm picking Kosi on the right wing....... I know he will make error but at least we will have a chance to defend it, i don't think we can cover for Tuaupiki on a wing.

I think webby will go Tuaupiki but he has to show faith in kosi one more season.

Crazy I know!
I know TT will be a weak link when it comes to bombing to the wing and also crash over tries but I feel he will defend the wing better and not get caught out in no mans land as much as DWZ and perhaps Kosi does. Maybe I am wrong but I feel TT's weakness is physical but not mental lapses and bad decision making like the other two.
