General Your 2025 team

I don’t think it will happen for the simple fact that he didn’t spend any time there in NSW cup. Going obviously took the lions share but when he was off it seemed to be more Demetric or Halasima filling in there
I thought he did play 13 in Cup at the end of last year?

I think and have always have thought, and I said so when we signed him, that TMM is a bad signing. I said he was much of muchness in ability with CHT and Luke Metcalf and would lead to selection confusion and a confusing pecking order amongst the halves. You should have a clear pecking order All the other NRL teams except basket case teams like us have a clear pecking order for their halves. This was not such a critical issue with SJ being in the form of his life in 2023 when we could have paired a demented mule with him at standoff and it wouldn't have mattered since SJ was going to demand the ball every single play during the whole match. Now that SJ is gone the accquistion of TMM further stands out as the wrong move.
We should not have acquired him in the first place. We are going into 2025 with a manage by committee approach to our halves. We are throwing 4 barely NRL standard halves at the situation and hoping two of them have a good year. We should have gone all out this off season not to sign Tananh Boyd to sign one clearly a cut above TMM/CHT/Metcalf. Even if we had to examine every single super league half and look at every single 18 year prospect for the next Galvin.
TMM and CHT should be depth halves playing in NSW cup and getting in 8-12 games per year much like Daine Laurie does for the Panthers at fullback because TMM/CHT/Daine Laurie are all cut from the same cloth. The panthers a premiership team plays their version of TMM (Laurie) in NSW cup most of the year.
But here we are and faced with TMM vs Boyd.

We all know the answer? Start with either of them. If it is TMM I don't mind. If it is Boyd I don't mind because you can bet by Game 5 we will be going to our first drop half for a game due to injury based on how injury prone Metcalf and TMM and CHT are. Webster is correct we need all 4 to get through the season. I am relaxed about who starts game one. I personally would go Boyd as we lost many games due to goal kicking and non ability to do drop kicks in golden point. I personally never want to lose that way again. We aren't going to win the premiership but I would like to pick how we lose this year for the benefit of my mental health and I felt chronically depressed watching CHT miss kicks right out in front of the sticks last year and missing goober attempts at drop goals right in front of the posts.
When we signed TMM we didn't have CHT and Luke Metcalf was a rookie with a handful of first grade games.

It was typically him and Bunty starting in the front row with Going at 13. Going played a lot of first receiver due to the limited halves we had playing.
Personally I like Ale off the bench in the middle. I think if you had him Walker, and Demetric coming off the bench then you have a chance to up the tempo and take the pressure off of the halves

Sounds good, who starts at lock though, Clark?

I think we can say we need a top 4 half, but so are 12 other teams. We probably have the best we can get and have to make it work.

SJ was a once in a generation talent we were lucky to have the past 10 years. Unless we can sign Hughes, it’s going to be a while before we have an elite half again and we’re going to be relying on journeymen.

OMG Wrighty.

You should read your post.

Take it down man.

Classic shiny new toy debate

Boyd shouldn't be touching the 7 jersey this year. If he does we're in trouble.

TMM and LM are the clear starting halves pairing (is it underwhelming? yes, but is it obvious? also yes)

CHT would be clearly ahead of Boyd in the pecking order in my eyes.

Boyd would be in super league or playing QLD cup this year if not for us.

INB4 "but we turned Montoya into a decent player"

So if Webby decides to play his recruit we are in trouble?
I don’t get this logic at all.
He’s brought him for a reason, if you don’t trust his judgement that’s fine but a bit harsh judging it before 1 minute of preseason has been played.

You could be right, maybe Tanah just needs a coach who believes in him. And if he finds a regular spot here who's to say he won't settle into kiwidom like Wayde has, they don't all fuck off home first chance they get like Jimmy Maloney.

Boyd kicked at 72% last year, has managed less try assists in the last 3 seasons than TMM managed last season alone.

That's not bagging Boyd, I do rate TMM that highly. I think he could be a top 3 or 4 half this year

Surely us Warriors fans wouldn't do this would we?

Anyway Healy as 9 and Egan to centre anyone?! 👀👀👀

I don’t know if he will work out but I like what he offers.
One thing I won’t do is write him off before he puts the fucken jersey on that’s for sure.

That would be great, but it won’t happen.

How is it that the storms 4th choice half in Pezet is arguably better than our whole list of halves 🤦🏽‍♂️

This isn't a complete mystery box that Webby is just going reveal to everyone.

He's more or less a known commodity that has hours and hours of game footage you can go back and have a look at if you want.

It has nothing to do with trusting Webby's judgement, when I've seen him play already over a large sample size

How is it writing him off? I'm saying he's clearly the fourth option.

How do you know that's not what he was exactly brought in for?
