General Your 2025 team

Here is what CHATGPT says

In 2024, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, the New Zealand Warriors' fullback, experienced several injuries that affected his playing time:

  1. Hamstring Injury (March 2024): Nicoll-Klokstad sustained a hamstring injury early in the season, which sidelined him for the initial rounds. He was on track to return in Round 4 against the Newcastle Knights on March 31.
    Warriors

  2. Calf Injury (July 2024): During Round 18, Nicoll-Klokstad suffered a calf injury. He appeared to sustain the injury midway through the first half but continued playing until halftime.
    Fox Sports Australia
Subsequent scans revealed a moderate calf strain, leading to an expected four-week recovery period.

Really don’t know what the plan is with CNK, but one thing to consider is both he and Tuaupiki were coming off contract at the end of 2025 and Tuaupiki is the one extended first. Only a one year extension though. They might be holding off on one or two for whatever reason? TMM is another, and he looks like he’s leading in many of those latest preseason pictures. Looks fit and dialled in

Noitall do you think there is any parallel universe where Taine plays fullback game one and CNK is not on the plane to las vegas.

Sorry. Just saw your post. I totally do at fullback, but injuries or anything could happen by then and CNK seems to be so versatile filling in at five eighth when we had bit of success during the season. Not as much for the Kiwis though, but a big ask. Wouldn’t be surprised if Webster isn’t settled on his round 1 side, and hope not to be fair or else there’s nothing for the whole squad to work hard towards

Do people forget that last season our goal kicking and general kicking ( outside of SJ) was not flash?
As a result there are 2 decent goal kickers in the wider squad - TT and Boyd with back up from Pompey and Metcalf, with CHT not performing under pressure.
Our halves aren’t great distance kickers either .
As a result , depending on how the pre season goes, Boyd could well be one of our halves.

Can recall when Ivan Cleary was on Once a Warrior he said he decided to take up the goal kicking role as another reason to be selected and I think if Pompey is smart, he’ll do the same. Not much between many of our centres and that could make Pompey more valuable? Similar could be said for Tuaupiki? Agree with you regarding the positional kicking on the field too, but keep going back to games against panthers and dolphins. TMM is regarded as a five eighth, but looked his best at halfback? Perhaps it was more the side he was on that saw many try assists? Boyd is an interesting proposition though

No Harris? I get the vibe the forum seems divided on Tohu next year. If he’s gotten over the worst of his injuries he’s one of the first you pencil in. A workhorse with beautiful hands.
Prince? Like the singer? Got a bit of bad news there …

Few thoughts on the squad,
Roger to Fullback, was best player on the field each time he played their this year as well as the dolphins trial.
Charnze and Pompey to make way for Leiataua and Pasikala, Charnze could play centre but I’m going for youth in Berry and Ali.
Pasikala in for a bit of x-factor.
If Pompey had speed he’d be a top 3 centre imo, just gets burnt far too often 1on1 because he’s slow asf.
Halves not sure on Metcalfs the only lock in for mine.
Hoping for a breakout year from Ale and Sifakula, they’ll mix it up in the middle as they’re not so up down type middles like fish and Barnett
