Can my valuable consultant Wrighty Wrighty please give his opinion on the final makeup of my forward pack in regards to starters vs bench players?

8 - P. Harrogan 111 kg - enforcer
9 - M. Betham 94 kg - pro boxer
10 - R. Wiki 104 kg - enforcer (ask Soliola)
11 - S. Thaiday 112 kg - enforcer
12 - B. Thorn 116 kg - enforcer
13 - P. Gallen 104 kg - pro boxer

14- C. Murray 96 kg - most sent of players around!
15 - M. Taupau 111 kg - strongman
16 - H McGahan - 100kg?
17 - R Tuivasa-Sheck 96 kg
Mcgahn has to start- he’s the only golden boot winner there and has the world record for most tries in a test match (6) guys a legend- he’s actually the one I really wanted this round and budgeted 600k for (all I could afford) then straight away u put $635k on him 😫.
And now u put him on the bench?? U don’t deserve him😭

He’s not locked onto the bench. I definitely want to start him. It’s just where and for who?

Gallen or Thorn or Thaiday?

My consultant just gives me more questions than answers 🤣
Thaiday gorne.
Mind u I reckon mcgahn would be the perfect modern day 13- one of the most skillful forwards ever.
Depends what era you’re playing in I suppose- he’d be a handful on an edge too.

Thaiday it is I think.

I loved the 2 huge second rowers but McGahan has to be in there

Ps McGahan played basically half his games at lock (22 lock/ 8 second row in tests and 74 lock vs 82 second row in NRL)

Don't play him at lock or you will have locks coming out of your ears - notwithstanding that Murray played at second row recently in some tests.

Thaiday played a lot of tests off the bench too so he will look good there.

wizard of Tauranga wizard of Tauranga If you are going to start McGahan your consultant thinks you should start Murray to absorb the initial fury then bring Gallen on to be bench impact at the thirty minute mark. The ball playing of Murray might also allow your team to get across the stripe early to establish some momentum.
Plus I think a bench of Gallen/Thaiday/Tapou/RTS sounds pretty gangster and will be a point of difference for you.

It's quite fun comparing and debating ATG lineups. Other cricket sites I belonged to had whole debates continuously comparing ATG players. The only one I really found fascinating and read every page of was Hadlee vs Lillee. Incredible discussion for cricket tragics. But for us league people we will be voting on the age old discussions of Johns vs Lewis etc in this game and other marquee match ups,

Hey Defence Defence i think you might have understated how much you paid for King Wally - $3.15m rather than the $2.15m you list there, which leaves you with only $287k left to spend. Tough luck… now Wrighty Wrighty how about a green card for the Fuckwits??
I mean this as banter and to be funny so please don't take seriously as I think you are a gentleman and a scholar, however I note that there is some desperation in this appeal for a green card as you have been playing the Wrighty games for 7 years and have never been awarded one !!!!

Cces Cces here is your advice. Mark Twain said if he had more time he would have written it much shorter. So this will not be short as I need to get this off in time for your bidding tomorrow as I just noticed you have one spot left and need to make a bid tomorrow.

1) Who should you play at 17 out of Solomona vs Pritchard. Solomona is the better bench player in general and spent more of his career coming off the bench and creating an impact so knows that role better than Pritchard. Solomona played 9 of his 21 international appearances off the bench while Pritchard played 9 of 35 International appearances off the bench. So that would indicate Solomona has an argument.

However you are trying to get votes here and not actually pick a team that will win a game this coming weekend against another ATG side. My experience has been that people will put your 1-13 under the blow torch but look at bench differently. Players who have name cachet can and will make your bench look good and look better from a voting perspective even if picking a lesser known player might actually make your team win more in real life. Think of the your 1-17 as entering not necessarily beauty pageant but they are entering an academic judgement session where reputations and exploits and past deeds will be important rather than money ball reasons for picking someone in that position. Even though you will be able to do a write up on your team not everyone reads it. But wait Solomons can also cover 5 8th in a pinch? I think that is scraping the barrel. So my recommendation as your consultant is to pick Pritchard as your 17 over Solomona. The other thing people read into the bench is the balance of it. In this case both Pritchard and Solomona are second rowers so we don't have to think about the balance of the bench.

2) Some value add thoughts for you. I don't rate highly Henry Paul. Henry Paul is your 14 and offers back utility and cover for lock. Maybe Solomona plays ahead of him and you have four forwards on your bench and you play both Solomona and Pritchard on your bench.

3) You only have one spot left and need a hooker. I searched through your 18-22 and did spot Robbie Hunter-Paul who can play hooker but I think you will be losing votes if he your starting hooker and it was not his main position. So somehow you need to snag a hooker by the end of this contest. If one doesn't appear tomorrow as an option then I would either make a token bid on someone you know will get a much higher bid to avoid infraction and wait until the next day to see what unfolds then or I would legitimately play your Green Card you earned today and sit out the round and absorb the infraction through your green card. That is what the green card is designed for. Situations like this so use it if you have to.

My consultancy is not just one question as mentioned if you have any others then my fee covers those too.

Hope that helps

Thanks Wrighty.
Does Henry Paul's Rugby Union career affect your opinion of him?
2 Test wins over Australia at Hooker and being unbeaten in his 5 Tests vs GB/England shows he was far from mediocre. Versatility galore. Rightly, or wrongly, he's a certainty in my #14
