Yeah man, that's what I hope is happening too - gives us the more balance with other available options I reckon, with Tohu shuffling between 13 and prop as well

He has a pretty decent kicking game already, and the best goal kicker at the club.

Haha - He's saying he's not 100% Tohu will play anywhere this year. I don't think he's doing any contact training yet, so who knows. Was Erin Clark brought in as a potential 13 replacement? I know Walker will be in front of him, but Walker will be back in Aus 2026.

I'd rather he was broken beyond repair than playing the odd game here and there for a big chunk of cap. If we are any chance of punching above our chances on paper this season it will require a return from Tohu's cap space.

He wants to play on though, and like Tim Southee's farewell tour that seems to be important.

On second thoughts, if Southee had not been so robust injury replacements would have come in and demanded his place.

Hopefully the young guns can do the same thing. Use this opportunity to never be left out again.

Much bigger sample over the season for JFH with 14 appearances compared to 23 in 2024, but even broken Tohu offered more average run metres, though only just and the same tackle efficiency. Sitting on 234 career appearances, really hope he can get to 250 at the least. Think he will perform wherever they see him fit and hope there is some truth to Barnett taking captaincy so Tohu can concentrate on his own performance. Think Barnett would be better in communicating with the ref also
