Did you know the Warriors have a bye next week?

Agreed, his defence is up there.

Picking apart his game you would assume that taking the line on and playing up in the face of the defence....putting his body on the line to get balls away....would be one area all halves could do more of.

But I suspect it is about doing Websters game plan, while that is pure conjecture on my part, Websters game plan is very simple, boring, predictable, completions....kick chase....completions.....kick chase.

We saw how Metcalf committed himself to that game plan, how it killed all of Metcalfs creativity and took his running game out of Warriors attack for more than seven rounds of clunky, no instinctive, talentless attack.

But Metcalf stuck to Webster ball strictly, despite the criticism that came his way during the early rounds for having zero creativity.

We also saw how once Metcalf had Websters kick chase rinse and repeat down pat the trainer wheels were taken off by Webster and Metcalf started running again...boom our attack is starting to click.

So this is pure conjecture on my part, but TMM probably didn't do the same as Metcalf, when TMM had the keys he played what was in front of him right away, he played eyes up at every opportunity.....which is why I said originally that I wonder if TMM made the right noises when asked the hard questions by the coach about his commitment to the game plan vs his own personal style of play.

Kick and chase, rinse and repeat is not really TMM's game.
Yeah that’s was my line of thinking
Tmm doesn’t like ( at times) Webster game plan.

Have not been a great fan of either play, I like your thinking though.

I see both as typical Poly stolid build not lean muscled enough and slowish, the lack of height in so many of our poly players is annoying too....since there is no shortage of tall athletes out there.

Having said all of that, I have come to like TSS a little, I can see he is trying hard out there, so that gets massive ups from me. I just need more time to get used to the guy I spose.

And I see Ale who I think has been the most overrated player at the club was putting on a lot of footwork in the last cup game Vs the Eels, so yeah that gets my respect and attention, I might have written him off too soon also, maybe he does have a role....maybe.
For about the last 4/5 years on this forum ive read from many on here that "this will be Ale's breakout season".....still waiting tbh..... thought he had enough oppertunity the last couple of seasons if he was really going to establish himself and make himself a first choicer.....may still yet but i agree, seems a tad over rated.....if all he ends up is being depth....nothing wrong with that.

Early days yet for TSS but im getting potential Rapira vibes with him (obviously the stature a big one) but it does seem he finds the ground fast with a quick PTB.....even if he doesnt end up a huge metre eater thats a handy attribute to have in the modern game.

Funny I always peg the newbies to past player moulds and I had Rapira as well then started to question myself as to whether it was the bald head and one thousand yard stare.

Good points about the Ruck, Rapira was king of the Ruck both sides of the ball, if Tanner can chase out of marker and mow down the runners like Sam did then he will go from being a nice to have to a Webster porn type.

I have a question for NRL train spotters:.let's just say for arguments sake the Warriors go all the way and win the 2025 NRL Telstra premiership..Will Mitch Barnett get a premiership ring? What is the rules around playing and not playing in the final..? He def deserves it and it would be a travesty if he didn't get recognized.Do you actually have to play in the final game to get the ring?

I don’t think he does. Didn’t Johnathan Thurston give his to Steve Price because he missed the final?

No they don't.. as above with Pricey and Russell Crowe gave his, as owner, to cheese...

Gee we're big favourites, odds are $ 1.25 - $4.00.
Heard Ivan won't play his Origin players.. don't blame him, too much travel.
Means we must be careful, then again could be a big ass score for us, good for our pts diff..

Id personally go with:
1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. Pompey
5. RTS
6. CHT
7. LM
8. JFH
9. Healey
10. Niukore
11. Leka
12. Laban
13. Clark
14. TMM
15. Ford
16. Demi
17. TSS

I dont know what the injury with Egan is but he could benefit with another week to rest as we have Broncos after and a bye.

Berry was training this week so he should be good to go. Id keep an eye with Ali in cup and see how he goes.

Panthers wont have edwards too cleary martin and yeo.
or To'o

Exactly
Anyone that believes that Panthers without their stars
Are a pushover
Nah
They have young guys that will do the job
Panthers Roosters Cowboys on the rise
Keep winning Wahs
Don’t read what people are saying about top 4 finish
Just get into playoffs🤟👏👏
Can't see the Cowboys being a threat in the finals given their thrashing by the Dolphins this weekend. The Dolphins were spectacular and will hard for us to beat at home

I think we're too woke to our potential to take anyone in the comp lightly, especially these guys - they're a dangerous side with real pedigree - however, we're at home for the first time in ages, will be coming off a bye after the most complete game to date, and so will be wanting to flex again, locking in the gains - we're in the hunt for a minor premiership now and so should be fixing to win every encounter. The guys are in it for each other and for us, the die-hards, day oners and the band wagoners, everyone is welcome and we want blood, every game... Panthers imo will be there at the pointy end of the season, too - probably starting to peak at the right time, they're a long way off right now though, so we get them at a good time - can't take that opportunity blindly and I have the trust that we'll be there, ready to roll - there hasn't been prolonged complacency all year, there can't be for this one either.
Even at this stage, I believe the Raiders have the minor premiership sown up. They have such an easy draw that it would take a major happening for them not to take out the award.

If Rocco is fit to start then I think we get Capewah to sit the game out against the Panthers.
Not only does it rest him but also a great way to further develop our younger players and further develop after what they did against the sharks

As Webby has mentioned the club mentality is one of a squad mentality and this is an opportunity to develop it further. Fish, Wade and Marata can lead the way

Ivan has apparently hinted that he will be resting his origin players.
Maybe put him on the bench and play him only if needed.

He seems to play best in focal point positions like halfback or fullback, where he is the guy and rather than run a move from someone else he is the instigator.

I really like him, I my read of Websters take is that TMM isn't doing some aspects of what they want from him (well anyone can come to that conclusion). 100% that Webster would have had direct conversations about where things are not where he wants them, he did make that comment in the media about needing to work on his game.
Don't they all?

I am not sure what you are getting at, if you are saying all players do better when they are the focal point of the play as the instigator (one of the points in my post) then no.

Some people are born to play support roles. CHT for example is a better in a supporting role.
