Yeah this is something I'm really looking for.

Except for the Tigers game, every other game we've conceded the first try. Even more worrying, 4 of those 5 games we've had a try scored against us in the first 5 minutes. Pretty sure Hazleton in the trials also got across very early for them.

Don't know whats going on with those starts but it sure would be handy to not be chasing this game 5 minutes in..

The flip side is we have been closing games out well (for a change).

way the Aussies been talking up are last win was purely as Broncos played poorly ..I hope this week we can cement are place in the top-4 as a great team and not just lucky 13+ WARs
they'll do this all year whenever we beat a fancied side. We've actually beaten some good sides this year. Manly and Brisbane are two of the top attacking teams in the comp when firing. Yet when we beat both, it was all about how Manly/Brisbane were off their game and gifted us the win rather than how we outmuscled their huge packs and bashed them out of the game. Not a bad thing tho- I like how sneaky we are being this year. No one has really clocked just yet that almost 1/4 of the season is done and we are sitting in the top 4, rather than the bottom 4 as everyone had predicted.

As a Cantabrian (who has lived away for 20 years), Warriors games in Christchurch are a source of PTSD for me. I was so excited when they came to town, but those first 3 games were painful. Especially 50-4 and 24-6 losses to the Tigers in 04/05. I remember one particular moment (not sure of the year/player) where our player didn't ground the ball/kick it dead in the in-goal and the Tigers burgled it. It was very embarrassing. The ground felt cursed. It has been more even since that date (4 wins from 9 games in total).
I prefer to remember the wins haha. Last year was pretty good but the one I always remember is the 2010 game against the Roosters. Kevin Locke scored a try in final minute to win us the game in atrocious conditions.

Unfortunately I left Christchurch after the first 3 losses. I never got to experience the redemption, and was laughed at by half my union loving mates, and pitied (which is worse) by the others!

There have been a couple of good wins though!

I was actually going to brave it again this year, but flights were near $3000 return for my son and I from Palmy. I figured we could do Magic Round and expenses for that...

We're trucking ok at the moment so go to give us the points 12+. Don't believe in Banana skins anymore, we just need to work hard and continue to do waht's been working.
Just a feeling this year that the team seems to have a lot more defensive smarts, maybe it's just better communication.
Looking forward to an opportunity to get some of our PD back
