Another tactical issue: the speed of our passing.

We’re a slow grinding team but also with slow passing and lack of passing technique at times. Egans passing is slow and deliberate. When we see Roach passing things click… but it’s more than just the hookers it’s all players doing the basics well.

Look at the best teams and the pass moves at speed across the backline which gives players space. We stand deep with slow passes.

Comes back to the attacking coach and creating space. Bring out the bullets and things will look different.

Has anyone else noticed our play making has been restricted mainly to the seniors this season?

Just like it was exclusively SJ and TMM was ignored, junior players like Ali, Halasima, Ale, etc have appeared to be purposefully left out in attacking plays. No faith? Just watch and learn? Same with Bunty prior?

We play with a core of experienced forwards and they are tasked with winning it or lose it for us. Does this make us easier to contain? Predictable?

Disagree with this, they have purposefully set up Ali plenty of times for one on ones utilising his size and strength to get multiple tries this season.

Halasima 29m in half an hour on the field?

Ali 9th in the team for meters made against the Eels?

Ale 10th (85m made) in the team for meters made but 4th for tackles made.

Feel the young guys could be used a whole lot more with the ball…

Halasima only took 3 runs for his 29m in the middle. Is that on the team or the player to go looking for work? Got to take into account he also made 16 tackles in that time. Did he even have the opportunity to take many runs?

Are we just going to ignore the try Leiataua scored last week that was perfectly set up to get him one on one? 114m is pretty par for the course for a centre also.

Ale came on in the 30th and off in the 55th before returning in the 73rd. In his first stint Parra were dominating possession, hence the big swing in attacking and defending numbers.

I’m not saying we aren’t using these players, I just feel they could and should be used more. I think we have our attack structures that we prefer and we are very structured in that.

Again like the early season dominance by SJ. Very rigid. Very predictable.

I guarantee Halasima and Ale were under instruction to focus on defence and play a Bunty role.

That confused me. That kid has speed, a fend and powerful leg drive. Play him out wide and use Nuikore in the middle. Marata is way to slow. Defensively he got caught out a couple of times a few weeks back . He'll learn from it. Marata is not a backrower anymore.

I think from memory it was 2015
Exactly mate. You must have a great memory.
Can't remember any of our halves putting a grubber thru for a line drop out.
Always kick in the air and hope.
Too predictable

TMM tried a couple during our 3-game win streak midseason. Imagine that. It's almost like variety creates doubt in defences. I think we might even have scored from one, though maybe that's just a wet dream I had.

Nothing wrong with wet dreams mate. You actually get to meet prettier women. 😉 😜
Sorry if off topic

I think it was RTS scored from one of TMMs grubber kicks.
