Can Leka get some early ball for crying out loud! Man just gets straight hospital balls and we all wonder why he looks down on form.

You look at other young back rowers who are outperforming Leka by some bit…Duncan, Sasagi etc. Leka is better imo we just need to put him in positions to do so
I think so too, it needs to be an emphasis not an afterthought

Freshen up boys! Awesome effort.

I thought EIT looked good today, same as Demi off the bench.
Tbh, too many to name. I cant keep going on about how good Ford is, or JFH with the captains knock or Erin 'the Muss' Clark.
I cant talk about how good Roger's been going at center meter or defense wise, how fast AKP is or how sharp Taine looked from the back?
The halves? Dont even get me started. I dont want to talk about CHTs bullet passes or unco kicks, and Tanah, who goes from strength to strength.

Far out, I fucking love this team!

Crazy to think the ref was pretty poor, we left at least 2 tries out there (Dal and Rog dropping the ball over the line) AND we had a quiet period for 30 off minutes in the middle there.

Enjoy the week off lads, you've earned it. Best start to a year bar none!

Bit of statistical information for our form over the last two seasons, based on part of the commentary last night . After each round for last season and the beginning of this season (36 games in total), the Warriors have only been out of the Top Eight three times and nine times out of the Top Four.

This season, the lowest we've been on the table was 5th after Round 5. Last season, the lowest we were was 14th after the loss to the Raiders in Round 1.

the way sutton refereed the game was dreadful - and i mean both ways - it really screwed with the spectacle

Our game was ambitious up until we decided we shouldn't be about 10 out from the half - the next 30 was playing down to them - Moses was awful, he's not been great all year from what i've seen but yeah, not the threat he used to be an has far too many mistakes in his game now - Boyd outplayed him, in fact so did Volkman and Chanel - fourth ranked half on the field
Sutton looks really out of touch with the new game compared to the young Referees.

Call me cynical but the old guard tend to dish out a couple of six again's or penalties for the home team like script (lemme sooth the Ref lovers in here, I am not finished) I suspect the reason they do this is that they tend to watch one side at a time (that is how you get home side bias then the second half square ups etc, coz frankly the Ref is not good enough - or too biased by their own habitual narrowed perception of the play.

Long story short, Sutton needs to go. Him and Klein are past it.

webby said in the presser he's not dropping either half, metcalf has done nothing wrong but will have to wait for his opportunity
Thing is, imagine if Webster never gave Metcalf those two games. Fans would be grumbling about the 'what if's and why fors' more importantly the coach would be in two minds.

The best thing Webster did was show no fear in risking a couple of games to throw Metcalf directly in and tear the scab off that itch and actually find out what the lie of the land is.

Now he can make these public statements from a position of being informed rather than sticking to mythology and superstitions about breaking up winning teams.

He was busy tonight. A lot of clean up work.

Loved all of the shots of him cheering or geeing the boys up whenever the Eels made a mistake or something went our way.

Also quite a few of the others doing it as well.
Capewell was the MOTM as far as I was concerned. Such a professional performance.

I used to post on here religiously for over 10 years, but these days I don’t need to vent as often about this team because we’ve become a genuine top 4 side these last few seasons.

I honestly think we’re entering our premiership window.
Hahaha. Brother, this isn't just a place to vent! Post your celebrations here religiously!

Did my ears deceive me, or did Daryl Halligan refer to a mysterious Warriors player by the name of Wayde Healey in the pre-match coverage? When does he start and how long do we have him for?
Ah yes. Daryl Halligan for years has been getting under the table payments from Audiologists for sending tens of thousands of NZ'ders and Australians to get their hearing checked.

I have a theory how he earned the nickname chook (unkindly in the past i assumed it was relative brain size). More likely someone asked him what it is like converting from Union to League and Daryl said "I love playing for the Canterbury Roosters".

Good to see us scoring 18-20 points with Healey on, Egan will miss some games. He’s passing off the floor and not darting on the last too good growth

EIT had a rusty game
Boyd and the right edge rower needs to get their rhythm right. Leka better off the bench if Laban’s getting game time, being quite off lately
Pompey had strong yardage today
Hope RTS shoulder is ok, Ali, Egan and Barney should be back for magic round
TT was good
Lofi take on the sideline!

Demi sent Walker to Sydney hospital 😂😂
Clark and Fish immense. Dally M Ford continues
Good analysis here.
I agree EIT had a poor game. His two penalties were costly and one led to a Parra try. I am happy with your description of rusty. He seemed un prepared for the pace of first grade. But in other news he looked physically up for it and demonstrably bigger than last year so overall more positives than negatives provided he improves his discipline next time.

I agree the Leka knock on from Boyd trying to set up a second Leka try was on Boyd. His rhythm was wrong and the timing of the pass to close to the collision line.

I disagree with you on one thing. Young Lofi was wise not to take off down the sideline. We were winning at that point and any risk we took could have back fired. We ended up scoring off that set anyway or off a six again from that set can't remember.

In years gone by, we lose this type of game. The effort tonight can't be questioned. We've never been referred to as a team with genuine speed but we now are! We have the players, coaching staff, depth & one hell of a fan base to genuinely shake the comp this year! Enjoy the week off team!
100% some of Sutton's 6 again calls for both sides were an enigma and really effected the game. In some cases he negated the arm wrestle.

First three games of this season they threw Leka a lot of early ball.

That is not the problem.

The problem is not good at running lines compared to Capewell. Leka stands flat footed instead of hitting the passing lanes.

All of our young back rowers have this issue across the club apart from two young players - Morgan Gannon, and Kaylis Fatialofa.

Leka can do it, seen him hit some nice gaps, so that tells me that apart from a lack of experience there is a familiarity of combinations issues and timing.

It will come. Look at Jackson Ford, most unlikely try scoring prop in the NRL. Took a few years but has learned how to hit holes, BOOM a top try scoring Prop in the game.

Early ball to Leka is fine, provided he is timing his runs onto it.
