None the less, I am still extremely happy we’ve signed JFH.

JFH is definitely going to add some starch to our defence I think, but yeah I worry about that potential burnout as well, that he just gets put into those extended tackle-bot minutes the way they are doing with Tohu, AFB and Mitch… Maybe Demitric becomes our line bender/barn stormer? I wish they had more faith/trust in the bench.

He will go well with Shaun in his ear. He just needs to simplify his game and not try too hard. Get the basics down pat like tackling, kicking and organising. Then when opportunities present themselves go for it.

He was on pretty decent money for what he was putting out (for us). I'd say he was like Ice Papali'i where he needed the change in environment to truly thrive. Under Webby he may have been a bit more successful

Outside backs have been horrifically exposed for their lack of pace this.year. (Whole team is quite slow) I think the key recruitment requirements is at least 3 outside backs that have some speed.

With Melcalf at 7 & who knows at 6, RTS & CHT with a full preseason, they’ll improve. Tohu needs to come back fit or not play. We need a 6 and a wing and we have a good foundation. I don’t know AFB, or have any interaction, but if the toxic environment his wife has against the Warriors and NZ isn’t there in a few weeks, this would be a shift.

Yeah I think either Katoa or Curran would be exactly what we need there for this year and next at least. It would have enabled us to move Niukore into the middle and the juniors like Halasima and Laban could still be brought through off the bench or when there are injuries or if they're genuinely commanding selection as a starter.
