If Sharks offered BHU $550 that makes me wonder if the $750 report is accurate…otherwise it could be just higher than what other teams were offering like others said, which means he is in demand and we generated enough in the tank to outbid and get our guy

Both those figures are 100% not correct. They could be in the ball park best case, but every figure talked about is a guess/rumour through word of mouth. The manager could have dropped a big figure to media to try and get Sharks to up their offer, or a Journo has spoken to someone who knows someone who has heard a number of $XX etc..

I really think the NRL needs to have salaries known to all like NBA, it would solve a lot of cap cheating and rumours of it. But RLPA wouldn't even entertain the thought - too much power.

TPJ apparently seen meeting with Broncos powerbrokers about a potential return to NRL.
Thus sounds like a salary cap dodge and violation
The idea is that he turns up and plays the last three or four rounds and the playoffs so that broncos don’t have to pay hom much
However for him to play the last three rounds he will have to start training with the team and training in general at least two months before hand yet they won’t recognise him as being on the books during that period probably. It is a stitch up

Yeah I don’t like these late season signings. It’s a very nice way to cheat the cap.

Yeah you could imagine the vitriol from fans ' omg our 800000$ players ain't worth it , blah blah , death threats etc' not saying it doesn't already happen but tbf. Dudnt your parents ever tell you not to ask how much someone makes?

Some how I just can't see any player taking a 60% pay cut, needs a brain transplant if it goes ahead
It was a $2.6m deal across 4 years, front loaded - so therefore it was beneficial to Finucane because he got the coin early. There have been plenty of front or back loaded contracts over the years. This one happened to benefit the Sharks just at a time when AFB got homesick…
