Let’s all hope for the sake of the warriors season that my take on Ford is the correct one given he is out for the next three games

His minuses outweigh his advantages for me
I am confident we will go much much bettet without him. However games of rugby league are complex and multi dimensional so your argument and view point may be correct. Let’s watch and see if I am right. Not only the top in the nrl for six agains but 7th in the league for penalties conceded.
I can confidently say you are way off in that assessment. Ford has been huge for us, sure he has some mistakes in him however his work rate has been exceptional.

Unfortunately Ford was meant to replace Barnetts energy, so whatever you say about him being out, it comes at a big cost.

Without him our chances of using line speed to cut off and Strangle the Titans attacking high speed sweeps is now fooked without Ford and Barnett.

Which I suspect you all will discover today, I hope not, our last hopes are JFH, Egan, and Capewell for leading speed in our line defence.

None of that lot are anywhere near the line defensive pace of Ford.
Agree - and further the errors in Fords game are ( mostly) a result of high workload and high minutes in heavy traffic. I remember Kronfeld used to cough up a few for the ABs in the same way. Gotta take the good with the bad.

If we win 13 plus I want a concession from you and Sup42 that we are better off without Ford. I hope that does not read as a confrontational statement. I very much mean it in banter. But if we win comfortably without him then I think the proof is in the pudding.

Geez me & Sup aligned on something, there’s a first!

Ok 13+ then I’ll concede. However if it’s the opposite of that then you need to concede not just on Ford but also resign from chair of the DWZ appreciation club as well.

I hope it’s me losing out here!

Another one where you'll have 2 camps of "Shit, I'd Rather Lose Than Play Crap" or "Yep, Played Crap But Won".

Still think Cleary's Field Goal Attempt That Become a 4Pt Loss was bloody funny. Please that doesn't happen to us today. Pompey doing the Penalties/Conversions. Tries to Roger, Leka, Adam x 2.

I'm not a fan of the concept of deliberately getting - or, at best, not doing anything to avoid, considering the vagaries of the match officials in the match in question to avoid - getting penalties but, like everything else, if the NRL think that's ugly and they don't want that in their sport, they need to legislate for it. For example, condede 2 penalties for holding down and/or being within 10 in a row? That's 10m given to the opposition. Within 10m, that's 4 points.

It's the NRL's Jerb to Make Australian Grind Actionable, not the coaches or clubs.

I concede now because I am tired. You win!

BTW if we lose I won't claim it is because of Ford being out.

A full bench Dragons would have beaten us comfortably last week, same side effectively but with a bench just got slaughtered by the Bunnies. We will have to significantly improve to win tonight. Ford a big loss for our pack.
Last week they had to win to stay in the hunt for the 8. We killed them off. Motivation gone after that loss - hence the Rragins dropped lip and got slaughtered. We are in the 4 and we should expect every team to be desperate against us.

We should not be taking any team for granted. Normally we get our asses handed to us in a plate where we do that.

Oh, and how about the adversity this team has faced over the last 10 weeks? Loss of in game injuries and big outs. Capes has played centre more than second row.

5% off equals a 6 point loss. Fine margins in the NRl. Win today and we fight another day for a top 4 golden ticket.

Newcastle might have felt the same way as Riff when Halasima smoked them. And then we got our payback with the Dolphins beating us on the buzzer.

Plays like last night happen. Sport is a game of inches alright.

Have been doing a little bit of research on todays ref, Jarrod Cole

Has only ref'd 1 NRL game previously and that was last week Cowboys 38-4 v Knights

He has ref'd 185 Qld cup games since 2014 - 11 this year

So from this we can assume he is a QLDer
We are playing a QLD team

We have a newbie ref who has cut his teeth in the QLD comp

Hope we don't get stitched up here

He was pretty fair last week, hardly noticed which is a good thing when you are a referee.
