Yeah I think there is much more that has happened in the shadows that has led to this, earlier in the season Webby started he saw his halves as Boyd and Metcalf while all along THC has been performing just as well this season and last and one of the club virtues is next man up.
Guaranteed there is outside interference, whether it comes to light or the club moves forward and makes the most out of this time will tell but, we have the better halfback and likely standoff..
Dogs already have a six pretending be a 7. So why do they think Mets would be any different than the Galvin experiment at 7?

I hope they move him on this month, say Boyd gets injured and he takes the reign again, how the heck do the players follow him around the park? And we'll instantly be clunky for a few weeks again probably lose most, talk about derailing the season lol. Also the workplace will be uncomfortable for those involved, players officials, admins who made it happen. TMM showed he can fill in very well and he's still in the team, he's the perfect cheap, talented and experienced first drop depth

Our 2025 season showed metcalf is a damn good 7. Don't really understand the re-write of history people seem to be doing here. So i'm sure he'll do better than galvin at 7, and i'm sure galvin can do a lot better at 5/8 over burton. It's a real shame you can't exactly fix the coaching of that team as easily tho. And if past injuries are the best indication of future injuries, he should have a great 5-10 games.

I reckon he’s worth maybe 500K flat with bonus kickers eg plays x amount of games 5K a game, scores x amount of points extra 1K….. etc

Sounds like the perceived impression of Metcalf from AUS is he's a legit 7 (lol), and Gus getting him and moving Galvin to 6 is an admission of mistake and getting fans hyped for the fix that will complete the quest of 2025.
Will be hilarious when Mets/Galvin pair rolls out and Mets spend half the time in injury ward getting paid $900K and Galvin back to 7 with SOS

If anything, it's everyone going on about mets leading the Dally M's in Aussie who are doing the re-writing of history. Listening to them you would have thought Mets was leading a premiership contending team before getting injured. We were all there last year and know that we were largely fluking it all year. We all remember how clunky our attack was last year, how every match was a cardiac event and that we were only winning games because of mets clutch plays rather than well executed attack. Compare that to this year where we are a genuine top 4 contender that is belting teams on a regular basis and has the 2nd best p/d in the comp.
Mets was a brilliant individual player in 2025 (hence his Dally M pts) but as a game managing half, there was a lot left to be desired. It won't be any different at the dogs- the blame will just be shifted to him instead of Galvin.

The history would show Mets was a developing product who exploded in that 1st half vs Cowboys, then we went back to heart attack mode again. He could possibly sort out his structure play by the end of the year and be exploding this year, but he got injured, twice.
It's kinda scary to think if he goes to the dogs, he takes 2-3 months to re-develop good kicking, grubbers, structure plays etc etc, if they are not winning, he'll be on 360 every week scrutinized over these skill sets, and then gets injured for 6-8 weeks at a time. It'll be the Sydney media with the microscope covering the weekly activities there.

I saw a few and the highlights showed NOTHING of what makes a good #7
Intercepts, support play, corner tackles and kick conversions but no 1:1 side steps, breaking the line, try assists, skip passes or short grubbers ….. you’d think he was an outside back looking at those highlights

Then i guess like most people on this topic ill agree to disagree. I don't think it was a fluke. We were against better oposition then we have been against this year. We smashed the sharks in shark park 10-40. Same game we lost this year. We lost massively to the storm and raiders at the start of there season which dropped the PD. More points are scored this season than any other season to date. We had a constant rotation of centers in every single game. To the point niukore had to play most of a game at center. I don't think i was watching the same season. He's an injury prone half who is 27 and only played a handfull of games. But he was not a bad #7. No team in the NRL can be 3rd on the table halfway through the year and have a below good half.
We are if he turely is a shit #7 and noone wants him.
that was one half of footy over 15 games last year. Conversely we have 14.5 games evidence that he was basically a running 7, rather than an organising one. Nothing wrong with that and that can work for many teams. But our structure requires an organising 7, which is why Tannah is the halfback we need, even if you think Mets is the more talented player. Dogs are similar in their structure, so Mets isn't going to solve their issues. They need to chase a genuine organising 7-ironically chasing Tannah rather than Mets would have made more sense for them but that ship has sailed.
