It's a bit of weird situation given the Metcalf timeline last year and big re-signing, into whats happening with Boyd's form and opening of talks about re-signing. Can't imagine that happens too often that I can think of.
The team is definitely all round firing better this year, but if i'm thinking black and white i'm not sure what we saw from Metcalf last season at halfback would be producing the results we are this year at least in the same fashion.
People have a real rose tint of Metcalf from last season that he was the halfback messiah due to leading the redundant Dally Ms.
I personally have no issue with Metcalf, and feel extremely sorry for him with his injury history. But I feel we are moving into a really strong period for the club and I don't want the period to be hampered by the most important person in the team never being a consistent on the field.
Extend Boyd and re-sign my boy Chanel would be my choice at this stage. I agree with Sup about people saying only Boyd can fall off the perch, he may use this season as a stepping stone to higher heights. Crystal ball would be needed for any scenario as hes shown this year.
