Good news on SJ then.

The club are really padding the narrative about RTS and not being fully ready etc.

They're making it sound like he does not get the defence at left center (which is what you would expect anyway, it is a specialty of a specialist role).

I am certain he will be fine. Might get carved up a bit in the early rounds, but his team mates need to dig in and really defend at their best to help him bed in.

I am looking forward to seeing him develop in the position. Won't be worried at all if he tanks it the first half dozen games, it is a steep curve, and I am sure he will do better than the most pessimistic fans are expecting and not as well as the overly optimistic are wanting.

I'm whispering this, but I'd agree, by a shade, given they're putting out something closer to full strength while ours is more experimental.
Teams who are taking the trials more seriously…

Did the dogs just roll out thier full strength team and only beat a D storm team by like 10?
They were missing a couple - e.g., Crichton, Curran and Kikau - but their starting side was close to the team they'd roll out for Round 1. That being said, you can't read toooo much into trial results as different coaches have different styles and things they are looking for in trials - a lot of sides play young guys in the second half though. Bellamy would have been looking to test younger / inexperienced guys given a lot of his combos are set, whereas Ciraldo is trying to get his top side to gel. Warriors/Tigers trial will probably be similar, although we have a few more of our bigger names playing.

They had a few rookies in that backline though, some impressive kids coming through.

Yeah, absolutely. The Bulldogs pathway is looking pretty solid - lots of success there and heaps of young kids coming through the grades, including Joash Papalii (who was in the trial today) and a young half (Mitch Woods) who they pulled away from AFL and has a Development Contract this year. Gus has worked his magic again!

So good to hear Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach back, had to put up with (P)Ennis all wknd on Fox. Averillo spills the ball over the stripe, Uncle Block says, had he caught it he would have scored… genius, and pray Fukofuka gets a start this season in 1st grade with Blocker calling the game!

But yeah, Ennis ain’t much better with his OTT comments

Is it that hard to fine normal people to comment on a game ??
