Would love to beat these Storm Pricks but with that spine and them playing a home game......Just hoping we make it a game.
at worst we finish the round in 5th and recover our top 4 position next week by beating a weakened ponies side in front of a packed Mt Smart. So I'm not too worried if we lose this. Let's just have a crack and hope for the best. Who knows what might happen given all the craziness of the first 5.5 rounds.

Fuck these young guys ooze confidence from Leiataua standing over Sandon Smith after smashing him to Halasima shooshing the crowd as he scores the match winner. Hope they realise they can really make their mark today against this opposition that many are calling it already that they win the comp. Vaimauga said in preseason that he wanted to announce himself on the scene this year, well today is the day to do it

I'd be happy if the Storm doesn't rip us a new one and we lose under 12 points.
The only thing we have better than them is the fans.

They have a better coach, better roster, better treatment by the Refs, better experience, better support staff, better talent Scouts - and a better playing and training system.

The best we have done against them over the years is when we show them no respect, get angry about all their advantages and take it to them.

Today is no different, we have to take the game to the Storm, not the other way around, if we let them bring it, we are farked.

Exact same principle that has powered so many historic wins by the Kiwis over the Kangaroos and the Warriors over the Storm past.

Our forwards and our backs have to get angry.

Leiataua said he's confident in what he can do. Leka hasn't hit the harsh realities yet but I back him to take on everybody on his path once he takes the field. Melbourne know about him so watch that they don't accidentally hyper extend his arm in a tackle.

I'm in that zone.
The proviso being we don't concede 18 straight points.
I expect every season we'll be part of the Storm's Guaranteed 2 Season Pts (or 4 Pts, if we play twice, obviously) at this stage, given our history. The problem over the years with the Warriors has been being too many team's Guaranteed Points.
And let's remember what we nearly did last year...:)

No doubt we are all hoping for the upset (and I think it can happen). We should also keep things in perspective: we are more likely than not to lose this. Even if that happens, the results that happened this week means that at worst we drop down to 6th (Newcastle can jump us if they pump Tigers). In all likelihood we stay in 5th this week. That's not bad: we can recover our position by beating Brisbane next week at Mt Smart and taking their spot in the top 4.

Based on how Brisbane played this week, and the subsequent injuries/suspensions they've been dealt, I suggest that is a much more winnable game for us. So I basically think of this game as a free play. Try our best lads. At worst, we stay in 5th place at the end of the round. If we pull off the unthinkable, we are a clear 2nd!
Bit early for ladder positioning just yet, massive injury blows and form slips could have us sliding down the ladder.
Let's just savour our current spot in the 8.

Actually think we’re a lot more imposing than many give credit too. Round 1 was a write off but round 2 we beat manly up with Trbojovich picking up injury and DCE struggling towards the end. JFH puts as much niggle in the tackle as any, I think we’ll try bully them

If Barnett Clarke and Harris continue their form it will be a major help.

This kind of hype never result in a win for us. If anything, I think it distracts the younger players from what's important come game time. Better to stay quiet and put in the hard yards. Win a few games against the top 4 and then we can talk up a big game.
Gotta have confidence in yourself, over confidence is the problem. 6 long years since we beat roosters until this year. I thought what Webster said in the clip was very measured and honest, they’re the benchmark and favourites to win the whole thing
