TeamList Preseason 2025 Trial 2 - Warriors vs Storm

NZWarriors.com

We need Ed to do well. They already had a bad experience bringing in MGT too soon without appropriate supports on the edge and he got slaughtered last season.

They cannot just keep chucking green horns in there for opposition teams to target and shatter the confidence thereof.

Pompey is also crucial to our chances this season. Given we are thin on options, lose him and it really starts to hurt our chances.

I personally do not care if they dropped Ed. I too would like to see a Greenhorn have a crack, but you can ruin a player doing that. The Wing spotlights attention on young players the way they are targeted.

This is karma for persisting with Kosi over other juniors for 1.5 years, even when they are pouring out cap signing a centre instead of wing

I’d give Moala game time to grow but it’s all about Ed. Better score a hat trick to prove me wrong lol
That’s what I was thinking. MGT
We also gave Setu Tu the flick and he is listed in the Storm side.
It’s Webster think - Ed s the next on my list didn’t notice Ed s countless errors in the first trial
However it’s again only a trial gsme

Bit suprised seeing MGT so far down these team lists. Especially with the Ed Kosi Experince ahead of him.

Yeah he missed a bad tackle that led to a try in the Parra game, but so did half a dozen other blokes.

Was good in his first two games.
Ran 100+ metres in all three appearances, topped tackle busts in a couple.

I see Wrighty posted Chat GBT estimates for DWZs wrist which are wide ranging vs someone else posted the NRL physio estimate of six to twelve weeks.

Hopefully the NRL physio has more inside knowledge specific to DWZs injury, although I would be surprised if they know the outcome of his surgery this quickly.

Bottom line he is gone for at least a third of the season, probably more.
Do you remember Waisake Naholo cured his broken leg in record time by using traditional Fijian cure?
It was believed to be Comfrey leaves.

With the loss of SJ, Harris, AFB, Jazz and Montoya with not much coming in, I’m picking a rebuild year.

Got to get excited about the youngsters coming through and it’s more important for me that they get lots of game time, even if there is a few painful moments along the way.

To have an average year and not get runs in the legs of the youth would be a failure. Kosi isn’t a youngster, give the game time to Kali (or whoever’s young) because the results aren’t everything this year.

I don't know if I believe in rebuild years.
In fact I don't.
Try your best every year and have the right mix of youth and experience.
Traditionally though since I have been a fan the Warriors have been an old team so some corrections both this year and into future years to include more youth would be ideal.

You don’t believe in rebuild years in what way?

- You would rather finish 9th than 13th?
- You should make the youth earn their place?
- you should play safest options first with known quantity over ‘risk’ with young people?
- You should forgo future development for the here and now because every season counts?

Do you have the same philosophy in business or just elite sport?

Can you edit the post and rephrase this question "You don’t rebuild years in what way?"
