That’s impressive you have been in online videos.
I wonder if I have seen you without knowing it as have watched a few of them.

The only reason I criticised him is he sometimes, not all the time says the same sentence twice or three times in a row in case we missed it the first time which is a public speaking no no
Say your point then give your reasons then move on
His strength is that is he has an uncanny eye for a good topic for a video or podcast.
My apologies if I was too strong with my wording.
That’s really interesting and I know he’s always looking for this exact type of feedback. I will let him know.

That sounds great thanks Fizurg

In case he asks for any further clarification it may or may not also help him to know that if I personally miss a comment on a player I am invested in then I can always and sometimes do rewind the YouTube player and listen to Jamie or the casual athlete repeat that 5 minute segment

I think his issue is that he’s putting out about two videos a day, plus working full time, researching players and managing the private group. His videos are generally quite off the cuff.

Oh really I always assumed he was a full time pod caster and getting sponsorship deals therefore Feel free not to pass my comments on if it would be a dampener as I didn’t realise he is doing this to help everyone and due to his passion for the game. Please pass my gratitude instead as I watched about twenty or thirty of his videos when I was l learning last year and found them helpful.
I will leave it with you how to proceed in case he does like improvement tips.
Again my apologies for the tone of my first comment especially given he is a volunteer

Yeah, sadly there isn’t a lot of money in NRL Fantasy podcasts. I don’t think he has any sponsorship. He makes a small amount from his private group but nowhere near enough to live on.

I really wanted to take Starford but ran out of trades :( will try to get him in next week.

the casual athlete had some bad advice about Starford being a trap because tigers will acquire Taylan May.
Even if they do he has not been through pre-season so how long to come up to fitness? 2 months minimum maybe 3 months.

My 13 is poor this week but it is early days and early rounds. I have Vaimauga and Purdue in my starting 13.

How'd you end up with three warriors!? :D
Who did you trade out?

hi Rizzah

Before round one I locked in Ali Leiatua, Vaimauga and Metcalf as my three warriors. I had all three of them in my 17 round one and i could have won my match up but because they were poor I lost.
I have kept them all this week and unfortunately are all in my 13 so I don't fancy my chances in my head to head but I am still a chance of doing well in our whole comp as it is early days.

On my warriors Ali Leiataua got marked out of the game in round one. His performance in pre-season has put him on the radar of all the defensive coaches and coordinators Raiders were ready for him and part of their game plan was to rush him and spot tackle him before he could wind up. He will do better as our halves do better and soak up attention away from shutting him down So I am going to stick with him a few more weeks Like wise I am giving Metcalf just one more week. And Vaimauga is so cheap he is not really hurting me.

I traded out as promised i would Harry Grant for a second tier next level down hooker but one still miles better than Mama. Mama will be my back up.

And the casual athlete who i watch as my personal choice of pod casts talked me into jettisoning Naufuha Whyte and upgrading him to a slightly better edge forward. Whyte will bring in low 40s. My new guy should bring in high 40s. Seems like a weird upgrade to move someone out just for a 5 point better average but it is all part of my vision for my team about the point scoring ranges I am targeting. I am trying to be strategic rather than reactive and trying to play chess this year instead of checkers.

i passed on Humphreys as I thought chasing him was reactive. I can always get him next week if he puts two strong performances in a row together. However boy was that a hard call as his break even is minus 6 so even if you take him for two weeks then trade him you pocket $100,000. He is basically an arbitrage free money situation. I will probably regret it and props to people who took him this week.

With less then 24hrs to go before the dolphins game, i'm still debating on trading barnett for gilbert.
Pros:
1. Gain a good chunk of change (100k+)
2. He'll make a lot of money.
3. Barnett's brake even is a bit high at the moment.
4. If gilbert has turned into a tackle bot. He could turn into the Tohu middle of 2025.
Cons:
1. Lose a trade.
2. Barney could be on the comeback here, as i doubt our rotation will be the same with a full side feild (assuming the worst, that webby won't change to much when it comes to his bench use). So i'm pretty sure he will get more mins.
3. That could of been a rare game for gilbert. And he'll drop down in price not doing the same tackle count.

Anyone feeling strongly either way?

If you need to fix other areas, the extra cash is always good. Bench looks good for Gilbert to get bulk minutes. I don't trust Webby's rotation.

Whyte will prob get decent minutes this week, there are two rookie props on the bench because of injuries - possibly worth a hold, if there are other more urgent areas to deal with.
He got 43 points in 49 minutes last week. Maybe he gets 55 this week? I have a feeling Robinson doesn't rate his motor longevity during a game. Also eventually his minutes will get cut - Leniu and Radley will eventually come back impacting the forward rotation. And finally one of those rookies this week is Blake Steep - I think he will get minutes given to him as he is yet another gem that has been in the roosters system waiting for a chance to announce himself. He is someone I am targeting to bring into my side in a cheapie for cheapie trade next week.

I want Gilbert too but just couldn't get him this week.

After saying I wouldn't do it, I traded Metcalf to Humphries. I had found a way to get Humphries without trading Metcalf but that would have given me 6 halfs in my 21 which was just overkill.

I had also taken a punt on Stonestreet but it's just not going to work out so cut my losses, dropped down to Arthurs who I think will score well in the backline of the dominant broncos team this year - Leaves me with $99k in the bank to execute the below next week.

Only real trade I am eyeing next week is Seyfarth to Gilbert.
I may also offload one of my cheapie halfs and go for O-Donnel - cheapie edge for NQL who has taken Nanai's spot. If he is named again next week he could be a quick earner.

4 trades in the first two weeks is something I am loathe to do but after that the team should be set for a while.

There are so many trades to be made I find in the first 5 to 7 rounds. You can always save some once three trades per week arrive. Anyway just letting you know you will be in good company if you make max trades the first few rounds.

He turns 31 in April (Barnett) - I would make this trade. To the eye test Gilbert was incredible. Great leg pump into the tackle zone. The down side he is returning from knee issues and some people steer clear on principle of such people,

Surely there is no way Nanai is dropped for more than a week?

If you miss out on Humphries you will be left behind. In two weeks he will likely be up $100k that everyone else has that you don’t.
Sideways trading is a big no no In Fantasy, a five point shift in points is only normally worth it when going up to an elite level player.
Value is king in Fantasy. What are they priced at and what are they going to score, should be the question you are asking.

Barnett is a season long hold I think. He actually scored well considering the lower minutes. There’s also very little chance his minutes don’t increase.
Don’t trade an elite player after one slow week. I’m in a similar situation with Hopgood and there’s other people disappointed with Grant. You backed these guys to be keepers and one down game shouldn’t be enough to toss them.
