Question for the trainspotters

All the hookers I am tracking including elite ones scored in the 30s this week - last year top hookers easily scored 45 plus points

Have they adjusted any of the point scoring formulas this year?
Hookers scoring has been dropping over the years. They used to be the highest scoring position. (People used to nickname their bench the brothel, full of hookers)
But there were plenty of hookers who scored well this round. Seven of them scored over 50.
Also hoping for Haas to drop in value is a very risky proposition. He was already under priced and by smashing his BE this week his value will keep rising over the next month. You’re pretty much praying for a couple of early match injuries. Which is pretty unlikely.
I’m likely going to break my number one rule this week and trade out players I think are holds. But I missed Gilbert and Humphries. So will do what I can to get them in.

I mulling over getting Haas just to figure out how I could egineer a move.

If I trade in my elite hooker and downgrade Metcalf for a cheapie I can pull it off.

Question since my only other hooker is Mamazoulous - is it best to pick a hooker cheapie like Owen Pattie so that I have two hookers for weeks where Mamazoulous is injured or has a bye.
Or should i instead get the best cheapie possible regardless of position just to make as much cash as possible ?
What is the fantasy rule of thumb here?

The 2nd one.

Rabbitohs don't have a bye until Rd 12, and as you're not Webby you don't need to keep a spare hooker on your bench just in case 🤣
If Mama gets injured (unless it's a late withdrawal) you'd be getting his points anyways so yeah, I'd go for the best cheapie to make the most money you can

Are you saying if Mama gets injured I can always loop hole him? That is quite a smart thought I hadn't considered. Are you saying that?

No sorry, I think I wrote that in a confusing way.

I mean there's no point getting a cheap hooker who may get you 10-25 points IF Mama gets injured.

If he gets injured during a game, that's unlucky and you'll get his points and will then have to trade him out the next round.
If Mama gets injured before he plays, then you have time to trade him out to another hooker before Souths play.

In both of those scenarios, having a hooker who's only going to score you 10-25 points probably won't help. I think getting one of the cheapies who scored 35+ this round would be the better bet, as they'll go up in price fairly quick, so if you do need to bring a hooker in later on you've already made a bunch of money off of them

TLT will be interesting tomorrow

Will Humphreys be selected....he had a whopping 732 Kick metres in round one !!!!
Will Toia be selected
Will Purdue be fired into the sun

Laybutt is the Cowboys number one centre.
But might need a run in QCup.
Toia is a shoe in. He’s good.
Humphreys will get another shot.
I think the idiom is "shoo in" but i could be wrong ?? just a frivilous response don't mind me
Regarding your earlier post....I think dump Royce Hunt as an urgent priority. I think Mama and Kobe Hetherington (not Jack) are ok to have in your mix as depth. Your front line player could easily get an HIA and be out one game. I have Mama and I am happy with him. He scored in the thirties which is a lot more than any of my three Warriors investments returned to me.
I deliberately did not go for Kobe even though he is playing lock minutes once i saw he was priced over $400K.

The Causal Athlete is showing (he’s the only person I’ve noticed who uses the term “loop hole”)
I’d be wary trading out your gun hooker, depending on who it is. Trading guns out is a big fantasy no no.
Personly I’m letting Haas slip through for now. He’s a great buy but not one worth tearing your team up for. There’s a couple of must have players that I’d you have missed I would target first.

Indeed that is where I got the phrase. His show is what I watch the most. There is another one called All out club that I don't mind.

I agree with your advice and trading our an elite player to get a super duper elite player is not sound. Hopefully instead i can trade medium players to elite players.
I still might trade my elite hooker and go for a teir 2 hooker who is say $100 roughly less and upgrade elsewhere. I know you Dispelling my hunch that hookers are scoring less this year but something doesn't feel right in the numbers i see. So I am going to trust my gut and downgrade to a 9 out of ten hooker instead of keeping my current 10 out of 10 (Harry Grant I am sure you would have figured that out as soon as I said he was 10 out of 10 so who am i kidding by hiding his name). There are a slew of 4 or 5 top quality rakes who are not as good as Harry Grant but are still more than capable of meeting my needs for a decent hooker.

I only have $10K spare cash - so I need to free up some moolah from somewhere to advance my team.

Trading out Harry Grant after one reasonably bad game is an unconventional play. Could work out though. Just don’t be caught chasing points.
The casual athlete, talking league (you have to be careful which of them you listen to though) and Jamie Brown are my go to podcasters.

I love the casual athlete because he is articulate. I am a member of Toastmasters and I am used to hearing well practised profssional level speakers - his is at the level of a trained toastmaster and I find him very pleasurable to spend an hour listening to Longy is succinct, verbally adroit and thinks before he speaks rather than thinking his thoughts out loud. The worst is Jamie someone - he is pants.

I am very cautious of chasing points. So I am basing the trade off the career fantasy averages off Grant vs the slightly lower player I am going to. I am aware that I am giving up points by giving up Grant for someone else However I just can't shake my hunch Grant won't get his career average of 55 this year. And you have to trust your hunches in games like this. Also although Storm picked up Utoikamanu I think Nelson is getting old. The Storm's go forward and dominance doesn't impress me in game one as it was against the hapless eels. Nelson has been everything to the Storm's go forward in the last 5 years. So I think Grants will be behind a less dominant pack and this will shave 3-4 points off him and bring him back to the pack.

I like the way you look at the game and build your narratives. It’s such an important part of the game.
It’s interesting you don’t like Jamie. He’s my main guy but I’m probably a bit biased since I’ve gotten to know him. I’ve even been in a couple of his videos.
