hi Rizzah
Before round one I locked in Ali Leiatua, Vaimauga and
Metcalf as my three warriors. I had all three of them in my 17 round one and i could have won my match up but because they were poor I lost.
I have kept them all this week and unfortunately are all in my 13 so I don't fancy my chances in my head to head but I am still a chance of doing well in our whole comp as it is early days.
On my warriors
Ali Leiataua got marked out of the game in round one. His performance in pre-season has put him on the radar of all the defensive coaches and coordinators Raiders were ready for him and part of their game plan was to rush him and spot tackle him before he could wind up. He will do better as our halves do better and soak up attention away from shutting him down So I am going to stick with him a few more weeks Like wise I am giving
Metcalf just one more week. And Vaimauga is so cheap he is not really hurting me.
I traded out as promised i would Harry Grant for a second tier next level down hooker but one still miles better than Mama. Mama will be my back up.
And the casual athlete who i watch as my personal choice of pod casts talked me into jettisoning Naufuha Whyte and upgrading him to a slightly better edge forward. Whyte will bring in low 40s. My new guy should bring in high 40s. Seems like a weird upgrade to move someone out just for a 5 point better average but it is all part of my vision for my team about the point scoring ranges I am targeting. I am trying to be strategic rather than reactive and trying to play chess this year instead of checkers.
i passed on Humphreys as I thought chasing him was reactive. I can always get him next week if he puts two strong performances in a row together. However boy was that a hard call as his break even is minus 6 so even if you take him for two weeks then trade him you pocket $100,000. He is basically an arbitrage free money situation. I will probably regret it and props to people who took him this week.
