The adhoc way the international games are organised is terrible. The NRL needs to lay out a 4 year schedule. Signifying the minimum amount of tests. The pacific championship, world cups or tours of England.
That way the NZRL etc can organise those sorts of things on top of that.
When did the schedule for this year's Pac Champs come out - maybe 2 months before the first game, if that? The adhoc way the international games are organised is terrible.
One positive is Vlandys and Abdo are committed to International footy as they see the revenue making machine it can turn into. When did the schedule for this year's Pac Champs come out - maybe 2 months before the first game, if that?
It's shambolic. We should be knowing the internationals schedule at least 6 months out.
I was surprised Kiwi A didn't make another appearance this year. It was a good proactive move from the NZRL last year. They love taking one step forward and two steps back, don't they?
I thought the Kiwi A side was scraped because of money issues? NZRL are skint. When did the schedule for this year's Pac Champs come out - maybe 2 months before the first game, if that?

McLean’s New Zealand-born father Wiilie McLean, a Marist Saints junior in Auckland, played for Waitakere City in the now defunct Lion Red Cup and the New Zealand Residents before making first-grade NRL appearances for the North Sydney Bears from 1997-1999. He was selected in the Rest of the World team which played Australia in 1997.Thank god for that. Would have been spewing if he hadn't played for us then ended up switching to NSW.
Anyone know what his ties to NZ are?
Cheers for that. It's mint we're seeing more of these Aussie born guys representing their family roots versus taking the potential Origin route.McLean’s New Zealand-born father Wiilie McLean, a Marist Saints junior in Auckland, played for Waitakere City in the now defunct Lion Red Cup and the New Zealand Residents before making first-grade NRL appearances for the North Sydney Bears from 1997-1999. Of Māori heritage, the McLean brothers are nephews of former Kiwi Alex Chan and first cousins of Melbourne Storm forward – and 2023 Kiwis A representative – Joe Chan and France international Tiaki Chan.
Yeah but I’m glad Jimmy didn’t play.didnt know much about Casey Mclean, watched some highlights, hes rangey bit of speed, his brother Jesse has some speed also, lots of potential. Futures looking promising with these young kids with Kini in the mix..... I alway remember being pissed the Kiwis didnt pick Tamou for Kiwis squad when he was just starting out and NSW ended up napping him... and thinking, what a fuck up from the Kiwi selectors
i get that but sometimes you just have to get in first, like with this Mclean kid.... anyway imagine being a NZ born Maori and being known by the whanau as Aussie Jim how embarrassingYeah but I’m glad Jimmy didn’t play.
He wasn’t committed to the Kiwis so fuck him.

Love these videos, even if it's a bloke debuting for another club or country. Clearly means a lot to him. Hope he goes well.Oh wow. Go watch the latest story on the NZ Kiwis Facebook page.
