I can’t see this team getting past the first week of finals. My heart wants them to, but my head says that they won’t. Is reaching the top 8 still a successful year?

Losing the captain and halfback pre-season, then losing another SOO caliber captain and Dally M leading halfback and still making the top 6 is a very good foundation to build from

We should be good for top 4 and dark horse for a title next year, just wish we could add another strike back we'd be one of the favorites

We did well to get 6th let alone 5th or 4th, but given the way we played up to mid season we should be a shoe in for 4th. So many errors in those last 6 or so games, and crap attack. 7 or 8 would be about right for me. Start of the season would have been happy with that, now it feels like a let down!

Enough with the resting already, don't folk realize we will probably get the Panthers next week?

Enjoy the moment, this is realistically our last chance to win a game.

Nothing to lose either.

In such times, all that is left is to do my bit, support my lot, even though they will never know.

This is about us fans now, not the club, they have gone as a far as they can, otherwise why even bother supporting this team if you want this and want that...wanting things that won't make the Panbthers go away is futile.

Round one of the finals we are gorne. unless something really freaky happens this is our last competitive game.

Lets not forget that a Warriors side Reffed by Aussies vs the Panthers who have no spare lives is never going to be allowed to compete. No way a Panthers feel good come from nowhere is going to be spoiled by outsiders.

I just hope we come through tonight and next weeks thrashing with no injuries.

Something tells me even if we lose this game, Webby will get something out of our players for finals and we may just go further than that 1st game.

Then go down by that much in the first week of finals. This teams is good at doing your head in.

I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you. Tbh I'm rapped with how we've gone this year.

We lost our two best players - our best forward and best back this year and we've not been able to compete at that level since. There's no shame in that, most teams who lose their best players would struggle like that. Look at both Roosters and Eels with Sam Walker and Moses back, they've beat a few top teams and imo would be pushing top 6/top 4 potentially.

I'm stoked that we've been able to build though, one of the commentators mentioned that at the beginning of this year a few of our young guys had 14 games between them (Leka, Demi and maybe Laban) and with the emergence of the new players including TSS and EIT, were over 90 games now which is going to be huge for us moving forward.

Of course, we're all disappointed with the way our year has progressed as we've been on the decline instead of improving, however I'm stoked to got where we have. I like to think that with Metcalf and Barney we would have iced 2 more games minimum, so even though we're 6th I still consider this a top 4 year
