There were a few bad periods in that game.

The part where we got to 8-8 and the rain got heavier was a pretty critical few minutes. We struggled to get field position. The wind didn't help but some of it was our own doing. I'd have preferred some deeper line drop outs at that time instead of persisting with going short.

With High definition TVs now the rain has to be really bad to notice it. The start like a lot of games you end up needing certain shots or need to look how wet the players look to see how wet they are.

The ref and bunker were not one sided today. The bunker was overzealous with the calls put on report but it happened to both teams. We had more than enough ball to win in the last 20.

Mind you, last years premiers had a game like that in Bathurst in identical conditions.

Has anyone seen or heard anything on why our Second Rowers have changed sides? Ford's highlights, dating back to 2019, have him on the left. Capewell often played left for QLD & Broncos too but as a Panther that was Kikau's spot so the right side ain't foreign to Capewell & wasn't out of place there prior to his return from injury.

My own take is Capewell is more creative than Ford so it provides TMM with a bit of help offensively but it also unnecessarily creates new defensive partnerships. Moot point I guess with Capewell getting injured today but I'd love to find out if Webster has shared anything on his reasoning

For how long? A minute until half time, then until we give away another 4th tackle penalty and fold on defence.
We had our hand held in the last 15 minutes and were lucky to even had a chance imho.
Wow so you can read the future, if and only if we were allowed the try doesn't that change the way the game was going...
Ps can I have next week's lotto numbers please

No ref blaming here..We were just mud in the mud. Agree Barnett and Bunty looked good..Eagan has fallen off a cliff think I only saw one dummy half run admittedly I missed the first half, Sj,s refusal to grubber is weird.. And no second kicking option sux TMM can't kick to save himself..Who can kick RTS?

Trying to take a higher level look at things rather than individual performances.

Shape:
Our shape is awful. Absolutely awful. 2nd receiver on both sides of the field receives the ball running towards the corner post without fail. If the ball manages to get beyond 2nd receiver which is rare, our wingers are heading to row 3.

3/4 Variation:
We have absolutely Zero deception at backrow or centre on both sides of the field. RTS is the only 3/4 player that attracts extra defence but the poor ball he gets and his own inability to be a passing threat also makes him ineffective.

Attacking Style:
Our predictable style takes very little out of the opposition tank. Allowing them to repel wave after wave of attack with gang tackling style - how often do we cause the defence to scramble? Never...

Loosing the ruck:
The above allows teams to still have energy to roll through us in attack. Playing a direct style and leaving players on the ground with a quick play the ball.

Lack of purposeful second phase:
Our second phase this year has been atrocious. Lacking any real purpose, mainly hot potato. We've built a team of tackle bots, we must ask better questions of the defence through 2nd phase.

Bench Selection:
Been discussed to death, nothing to add that hasn't been said.

What's going on in the background ? This was a team who didn't want to be there, didn't want to be there last week either.
We have been through this before over the years - too many times but I'm not buying Webby's positive bullshit
Coach and Captain arent pulling their weight in my eyes. Even that can be enough

Same people saying don't blame the refs are saying don't change the team. I'll blame the team and there needs to be changes. 3 disallowed tries isn't our fault either. We scored them. Which means we probably win. Dodgy fuck video ref decided they weren't. Fucked us deep in the poo shoot. We weren't good enough to dig ourselves out of the hole we created. But stop with the bs. The refs had a few spades to help dig it.

We’re a team best suited as the underdog

Being favourites starves us of that desperation. The motivation is shiet with this team. There’s just no desire to prove anything.

If Webby doesn’t shake things up next week then we are done for the season so might as well start blooding the young blokes
