A thought for next season I'd like to see is that each franchise has a 30 team roster and a minimum of 28 players have to be signed before the first trial as well as having a minimum of $100k cap space left for each remaining roster spot. That would even out the bidding prices a little more and force teams to manage their spend and roster more.

Yeah i agree. this was more of a trial run to see how people bid and think about squad depth, cap space etc. and people are going to be learning along the way.
It’s quite tricky having to average 4 players a day over 8 days when you could win 10 or win none.
Towards the last few days it could get hard to hit 28?
there is the free agent options at the end of 8 rounds as well.
It also means that the game is more realistic towards an NRL season and everyone is trying to get 28 players in their squad. If you add in a couple of extra franchises it makes managing your cap spend and roster more important and perhaps closer bidding.
Also, if there were a couple more halfback options too.
Just a few thoughts. Lets see how it plays out first as well.

Correct. But some of those depth signings may be better than what you would get in free agency. So its a case by case basis.

the thing with the early rounds is you can put multiple high-ish bids on who you want and you may win one or two.
These last few rounds you are very limited with cap space and have to be very selective

@Barzak i think you may have a bit of a problem getting 17 players for round 1. i would suggest you either use your cap wisely and get all the players you need to fill all the positions you need. Or be the very first person into free agency once it opens straight after round 8 finishes. Its going to be tight. Might have to look to see if you can move in with Stacey Jones in Pyongyang.

problem you have is a number of franchises will go all in on the player or two they want and you need to guess how much you need to beat them....I dont think teams with ample salary cap have this issue
But in all seriousness, I’m going to have the final round of all final rounds into a roaring free agency.
Or I’ll fold immediately.
