Team List Dragons vs Warriors - [Round 10, 2025]

Just on the ole rain or shine chestnut.....

I think a hard fast track suits us better. Our attack finally clicked for a good half of football, we need to consolidate those gains and really bed in those gains our spine made last week.

Fast turf won't harm DWZ's game either.

I am not concerned that the Warriors might rush someone like RTS back too soon. If you look at their track record they don't do that. I used to slag our medicos for years. Nowadays I am the opposite, really impressed with their recovery management.

I appreciate your positivity, s/w, but I believe that this competition is so tight we cannot be complacent. The Dragons nearly beat the Tigers last week but for a dropped ball over the line resulting in a try at the other end so they are no mugs. It is better to be cautious than confident (ask the coach)
again I'm not saying we should be complacent. It's going to be a 1-12 pt game either way due to the cloudy weather. But let's not pretend they are world beaters like some on this forum always seem to do no matter who we come up against. Tigers have improved, but they are not the barometer of success. They also lost to the Eels.

Every week on this forum it is the same dynamic of pumping up the opposition and putting down our side. Maybe it is a natural defense mechanism triggered by warriors PTSD but it really is stretching reality (and getting annoying). The dragons are a bottom 8 side-
How long have you been a warriors fan for?
It sounds like you have been a fan for all of 5 minutes if you expect us to confidently dispose of a side in the bottom 8.
Sorry you find our posts annoying. We will try harder for you. Consider ourselves spoken to.

Edit - adding this twenty minutes later. For the first 5 years I was a member on this forum I got slightly bent out of shape if the consensus on the site wasn't what I thought it should be. Then I realised each person is allowed their own opinion as long as they don't repeat post it ten times, people are allowed to think that player X would be a good recruit when I don't. The coaching staff doesn't read the web site. And at first part of me thought that they did or at least one percent of me did. I don't care if others think we can crush the Dragons this weekend. That's good if they think differently to me as then I can read their reasons and ask them questions. And its good if some people think it will be a tight match as then you can read their reasons. Some free advice for you anyway as havnt seen you post much before this season.

I've never questioned your loyalty to this team and you certainly shouldn't question mine. I've been a fan for over 20 years. I've seen the highs of the 2002 and 2011 grand finals and the lows of perennial underachievement status (2011-2017, 2019-2022 and 2024). I'm well aware of the fact that this team has often in the past lost games they should have, which is why we've made the finals twice in the last 13 years. I'm just making the point that if we want to be a team that is taken seriously, these are the sorts of games we should be winning.

It's fine to disagree with this view but don't challenge my motivations. Just because I haven't posted on this forum for as long as you doesn't make me any less of a fan.

i am putting you on ignore. You don't get it. You were throwing your weight around on the forum telling us off for making posts you disagreed with theme of.

I'm allowed to disagree with others on this forum. If you disagree with what I said, feel free to rebut what I said in a constructive manner as others have. Instead you were the one who decided to escalate it into something personal. You are in the wrong here.

They also beat the Storm, Manly at 4 Pines, smashed the Titans. You are even saying its a 1-12 game either way. I'm not sure what point you are even arguing about now? People are pointing out pretty much the same as what you have done? Not trying to have a go at you by the way. Just trying to understand your point, which seems to be the same as what others are saying?

My main pt was that the game would be close (1-12) but that I would give the edge to us. It was a response to some of the posts on here I thought were selling our boys short and suggesting that we'd be up against it this week against the dragons. Probably a misunderstanding on my end since on reflection we were all kind of saying the same thing. My fault for posting on the go while at work without fully reading all the posts. 😭

Don't apologise, people get too sensitive on here if you say something that goes against the consensus, its the NRL, a competition with a hard salary cap to spread out players and a discretionary set of laws the officials can apply as they see fit, of course any team can lose any game at any time, especially a team with a bunch of injuries to one position like the warriors and the outside backs - but that dont mean you cant say an average team has being playing bad and we should beat 'em.

I think this is a game we should win but there is enough with Dragons home ground advantage, our injuries and us seemingly having an advantage more in wet conditions that cause me to think otherwise. I think it's about 60/40 in our favour at the moment.

It's a funny old game at times.

We're definitely playing better than how our squad appears on paper.

What's that old saying - something about 'a sum of its parts'? Eh, can't remember it to make it relevant.

If we continue with our 'next man up' mentality, our defence and grit will keep us in the game, with our halves, Leka, DWZ and Egan hopefully being able to capitlise on that and push the score out.

Realistically though, if there are no changes we are a very cobbled together group of players, and the reality is we can't win every game from here on out. Whether it's this week or in the following month, I feel well drop the ball at some point and just not come in with the right frame of mind, or maybe overconfident and we'll get blasted away.

It won't be the end of the world, and we'll probably find some good learnings from it, but yeah if we can scrape through to that 4 week period where we have 2 byes, I think we'll come home with a wet sail
