I want to get this off my chest. This will be a rant. Feel free not to read this.
I pay $80 a month for sky sports, roughly. That is roughly $20 per week. I only pay the money so I can get the NRL.
Why should I be paying $80 a month to watch low quality sports where I figure if I were 20 years younger could do better than the players I am watching.
When I was 16 we all used to horse around kicking conversions. I reckon right now if you gave me two weeks practice I could be a better kicker than CHT is. I also reckon if wound back the clock to me as a 40 year old just ten years ago that I could put in a better performance than what Ed Kosi turned out yesterday.
I used to be a lower grade club rugby winger and I won player of the day once for my tackling and defence. So I know how to tackle men and how to put them on the ground. I didn't used to jam in from my wing like Kosi does for fear of getting burned if I missed the tackle so why on earth does he do it. What did I know as low level club player that he doesn't know and how can it be possible with all the coaching that he gets that I know more about wing positional defence than Ed Kosi does.
And even if I am delusional that I would be better than both of them and delusional that know more than Kosi or could kick better than CHT that is WHAT I FEEL when I am watching them. And I why the hell am I paying my hard earned dollars to watch players who I think I am better than, and certainly I could find better players than if I just went and watched a High school first XV game. Becase definitely the high school first player would have made those kicks CHT missed and made those tackles Kosi missed.
WHY AM I SPENDING THE TIME AND MONEY TO WATCH RUBBISH PLAY ON MY TV?
Professional players don't make mistakes. Professional soccer players can juggle a soccer ball for twenty minutes. I am paying money to watch professional level rugby league and I am not getting that for my money.
Webster doesn't want to single out the goal kicking or Eds defence because the sport is a team sport. And we win as a team and lose as a team.
OK then let's not single individuals and lets choose to keep losing instead. That sounds like a good plan doesn't Andrew?
I am not a bandwagon fan but I watch pro sports because of the high skills the professionals have which leave me in awe.
The 2024 Warriors are not at a professional level and I they either improve soon or I am going to find a different NRL team to support instead of the Warriors like many Kiwis have chosen to do who show up at Mt Smart supporting the Dolphins or Tigers.
